If there was ever a point where the sometimes too-insular-for-his-own-good Numan couldn't have been more out of sight, out of mind – even to his central fanbase – the often-bizarre Machine + Soul is it. It makes his striking return to form on Sacrifice and his wider acceptance and influence in the following years all the more remarkable.

Changing images to a second-rate Bryan Ferry on the cover was one thing (Numan himself later admitted it just made him look like "the man who lost it all at Monte Carlo"), but rather better was the musical change away from the overblown nonsense of Berserker.

“To me, Honey Lingers is like a psychotic melodic patchwork of every single emotion we were having. It's retro, joyful, frustrating, snarky, and sad. It spits, cries, shags, and dances and that was what we felt like we were doing as we toured, did television, press and general promotion all over the globe.” Tracey Brynn, Voice of The Beehive. Reissued for the first time on vinyl since 1991, Voice of the Beehive’s Honey Lingers saw the US/UK band build further on their signature mix of jangly guitars, upbeat rhythms, and melodic pop hooks towards a glossier, more mainstream sound. Featuring three UK Top 40 singles, ‘Monsters and Angels,’ ‘I Think I Love You’ and ‘Perfect Place;’ the album reached Silver sales in the UK. This remastered and expanded 2CD edition features all the band’s many B-sides from the era, rare and unreleased remixes (including the 12” version of ‘Monsters and Angels’), and many unheard alternative and acoustic versions. There’s also previously unreleased tracks from the band live in concert, recorded at The Kentish Town & Country Club for BBC Radio One.

Intrada announces a 25th-anniversary edition of John Williams' Oscar-nominated score to the 2000 Columbia Pictures/Centropolis film The Patriot. Throughout Williams' long and treasured career he had developed a fresh, Americana voice, first coming to the fore in his 1969 score to The Reivers, then furthered a few years later with The Cowboys and quite powerfully in an unexpected place—-the Smallville sequences of Superman. It was a style that he would return to periodically and The Patriot provided a showcase for this style. The score involves three principal themes that correspond to protagonist Martin’s past, present, and future—the war trauma theme, the love theme and the patriot theme. As the themes weave throughout the score, Williams' beloved epic style is on full display, as well as exciting action music. It's all here in this lengthy and powerful work. Williams wrote his score for The Patriot over the course of about two months, a length of time he described as “fairly generous.” He then recorded the score over eight sessions between May 6 and May 20, 2000. For this expanded 3-CD set, producer Mike Matessino took a meticulous approach to restoring the score for full presentation as well as preserving the unique and artistic presentation of the original Hollywood Records album. As Matessino writes in in his producer’s note

Wilhelm Backhaus was a German pianist known for his selfless dedication to the composers' intentions. Also a recording pioneer, his 1909 recording of Edvard Grieg's Piano Concerto is the first known concerto recording. Backhaus was born on March 26, 1884 in Leipzig, Germany. His father was a successful architect, and his mother was an amateur pianist. He started learning the piano at the age of four, first from his mother, and then with Alois Reckendorf at the Leipzig Conservatory from 1891 to 1898. He studied with Eugen d'Albert for a year, and learned the rest on his own. In 1900 he enjoyed a very successful debut performance in England as part of his first tour, which established his reputation as a performer. Later, in 1905, he won the Rubinstein prize, competing against Béla Bartók who earned second place.

Originally released in November 1971, the album was the first release by the band and featured a continuous piece of music divided into 13 tracks. This impressive conceptual science fiction inspired work, which was interpreted as a commentary on the nuclear arms race, was the band’s first album release and originally appeared in Germany, the country where the British band were formed and were based, enjoying commercial success and building Nektar’s loyal following. This new boxed set edition features a completely new remaster of the original stereo album mix (from the original master tapes), both tracks from the ‘Do You Believe in Magic’ single issued in April 1972, along with new 5.1 Surround Sound and Stereo mixes by Ben Wiseman and a new remaster of ‘The Boston Tapes’ – the recordings made by the band in the USA in 1970 for an abortive album prior to them signing to Bellaphon Records in Germany in 1971. Also included is the complete “official bootleg” recording of a concert in Darmstadt, Germany in November 1971 presented on two CDs. Finally, the set features a region free Blu-ray disc with the new 5.1 & Stereo remixes of the album, along with bonus video footage of the promotional film ‘Good Day’ made in 1971 previously unreleased in full.
