"Mechanization Takes Command" was first released on Music-Cassette by Masami Akita on his own ZSF label back in 1983 and this, after 40 years, is the very first re-edition into CD format. A very special and historical album. The large part of sounds on this album have an analogue origin. Masami on this album plays Drums (?) and Guitar (?)… But also many other instruments and sound-surces such as TV ands Vocal samples. And of course Electronics, Loops, Effects, Drum-Machines… The overall is very strange. The first part of the album has a very freak, late 70es, psychedelc & prog touch mixed to a sort of improvised free jazz sound. The whole is slowly turning into a strong Godzilla-Japanoise as we are ussed by Merzbow but also into a sort of very pulsating & tribal future-modern-dance muzak always maintaining a certain freaky 70'es touch… In one word: Merzbow!

Post-modern ironists cloaked behind a veil of buoyantly melodic and lushly romantic synth pop confections, Pet Shop Boys offer wry yet strangely affecting cultural commentary communicated by the Morse code of synth washes and drum machine rhythms. After first emerging in the mid-'80s with "West End Girls" and "Opportunities (Let's Make Lots of Money)," Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe quickly established themselves as hitmaking singles artists who were also able to craft emotionally resonant albums, like 1988's Introspective and 1990's Behaviour. The duo navigated the constantly shifting landscape of modern dance-pop with grace and intelligence, moving easily from disco to house music to thoughtful synth pop without losing their distinctive style in the process…

Mindset is the 3rd album to be written and co-produced by Neil Arthur with Benge (Wrangler/John Foxx And The Maths) at his Memetune studios in Cornwall, following the critically acclaimed Unfurnished Rooms in 2017 and Wanderlust a year later. “Growing up in Chicago British synth pop was hugely influential in the burgeoning house music scene and Blancmange was a big part of that. To remix a song that was a big part of that soundtrack is a true honour.” Honey Dijon (recently remixed ‘Blind Vision’).

The new album from Tropics, aka 27 year old Chris Ward, looks outwards, armed with a newfound confidence that foregrounds his vocal performance and songwriting. Its a musical progression that mirrors a personal one: the early Tropics output was all made in the idyllic, if isolated setting of Wards grandmothers empty house in the seaside town of Southsea, which he moved into after graduating from university to focus on writing and recording. He was alone there - like, really alone.

Style: Electronic, Chillwave, Lo-Fi, Pop | Label: Carpark Records

The first sound you hear on Toro y Moi's fourth album is the buzz and roar of race-car engines on the speedway. For those who've followed Chaz Bundick since his debut album, 2010's Causers Of This, it's a peculiar sound. Bundick has never sounded like a man taken with velocity; with speeding quickly from one destination to the next. As one of the early progenitors of "chillwave," Toro y Moi has been about an unhurried sound, with a discography full of detours and pit stops: pretty folk garlands, gleaming R&B, wobbly '80s boogie.

Florian Seriot aka Toires has created an original music sound punctuated by daring expeditions. Since the end of the 80s, he has been busy with performing his music at various festivals all over the world, either solo or accompanied by an orchestra. His music distils sounds born from a fusion sometimes close to Ambient, to ethnic melodies from around the world, and to rhythmic elements oscillating between Trip-hop, Break - Beat, Dub and Rock. A long discography of ingenious ethno-electronic pieces and his remarkable talent have led him, during the last decade, to compose or remix singles for, or with, Natacha Atlas, Omar Faruk Tekbilek, Prem Joshua, Claude Challe, Irina Makhailova, Gravity Co., Gator Dash, etc.
