Siloah (1970). In 1970 Manuela, Tiny, Thom and Wolfgang were living and playing together in Munich. Under the name of Siloah they released a now highly sought-after LP whose master tapes are lost. In 1993 it was released on CD for the first time (Lost Pipedreams LP 013 CD), but unsufficiently decrackled and without any bonus tracks. Now at last there is a flawless re-issue of it including everything recorded at that time - even the track from the extremely rare "Release" sampler as well as their 7'' "Mit Tiny nach Tanger", of which only one copy was made. But what is most impressive is the 28-page booklet in colour, which leaves nothing to be desired. Siloah’s second album, "Sukram Gurk", recorded with a new line-up in 1972, is soon to follow. Dag Erik Asbjørnsen: "Siloah made two LPs, regarded as among the most frenzied on the German underground scene"…
Originally released in 1970 as Broth - Broth. New York-based band formed in the late 60s. Most of the members were from Cuba and Puerto Rico and their sound was an amalgamation of Latin-tinged funk, jazz and psychedelic rock. The album was produced by Steve Verroca who was a very well known producer, musician and songwriter (he also penned all of the songs except “Louie Louie”) who also collaborated with the likes of Link Wray, Kevin Coyne and Juicy Lucy among others. The band was only album to release 1 album and 1 7" single during their existence.

One of the most understated but spectrally beautiful of all Michael Chapman's albums, Window evidences just why producer Gus Dudgeon was in such demand during the early '70s, as he allows the idiosyncratic Chapman to weave each and every one of his musical moods through the sequence, without the record ever appearing to lose its grip. At the time of release, most attention was on the closing craziness of "She Came in Like the '6:15' and Made a Hole in the Wall," as performed (says the sleeve) by the Massed Voices of the Dean Teagarden Singers, featuring the Screaming Skull, the Bombay Banger, and Arthur Dogg. However, there are equal (if less lunatic) joys to be drawn from the reflective "An Old Man Remembers," while the opening "Lady on the Rocks/Song for September" pairing and the disused bookends of "First Lady Song" and "Last Lady Song" all rate among the young Chapman's most engaging works.
A fascinating collection of mostly instrumental live and studio material recorded by the original Mothers of Invention, complete with horn section, from 1967-1969, Weasels Ripped My Flesh segues unpredictably between arty experimentation and traditional song structures. Highlights of the former category include the classical avant-garde elements of "Didja Get Any Onya," which blends odd rhythmic accents and time signatures with dissonance and wordless vocal noises; these pop up again in "Prelude to the Afternoon of a Sexually Aroused Gas Mask" and "Toads of the Short Forest." The latter and "The Eric Dolphy Memorial Barbecue" also show Frank Zappa's willingness to embrace the avant-garde jazz of the period. Yet, interspersed are straightforward tunes like a cover of Little Richard's "Directly From My Heart to You," with great violin from Don "Sugarcane" Harris…
A typical organ-led instrumental rock album from 1970, On the Way to Eden was Eden Rose's sole LP. Despite the strong filiation between Eden Rose and Sandrose (both groups have the same lineup), the two of them could hardly be more different. Instead of the latter's symphonic progressive rock, Eden Rose's music is a bluesy kind of rock influenced by Procol Harum, Savoy Brown, and early Atomic Rooster. Keyboardist Henri Garella runs the show, penning down all the tracks and playing lead. A very good organist (and already a sought-after session man at the time), he plays fast solos, knows how to make his chords sound dirty (and/or cheesy), and how to groove on the Hammond, but his writing cruelly lacks originality…
