Spyro Gyra returns with first new album in 6 years. Inventive jazz covers of vinyl-era pop favorites…

The long-awaited follow-up to 2015’s Crush, a full-length album that was followed by the release of two EPs, contains 11 tracks. Lettuce tapped Russ Elevado (The Roots, D’Angelo, Erykah Badu) to produce the collection of new originals and covers. The sextet is said to “maintain its eclectic, free-wheeling approach while embracing a progressive and futuristic vibe, with elements of Pink Floyd, the Grateful Dead, Eno and Miles Davis, thanks to their love of improvisational music and arts,” as per press materials announcing Elevate.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Stony Plain records has scheduled a February 8th release for Amour by acclaimed guitarists Colin Linden & Luther Dickinson with The Tennessee Valentines. Dickinson teams up with Linden on this ten track collection of lovingly crafted covers near and dear to the hearts of the players and, likely, plenty of listeners.

Dix ans après son premier Best of, Vanessa Paradis sort ‘Best of et Variations’. Le CD1 regroupe les singles les plus marquants de la carrière de Vanessa, de Joe le taxi à Il y a en passant par Tandem et Divine Idylle… Il inclue aussi les nouveaux singles de Vanessa depuis La Seine à ceux des albums ‘Love songs’ et ‘Les Sources’. Et bien sûr le tout nouveau single inédit Vague à l’âme sœur qui ouvre ce premier CD.

Electronic music duo Groove Armada are to release Twenty One, a four-CD deluxe compilation curated by Andy Cato and Tom Findley to celebrate their 21 years together. Over the years Groove Armada have issued eight studio albums and this new set features all their hits via a themed approach across the four CDs (64 tracks in total). CD 1 (‘Club Mix’) is a new continuous club mix featuring new ‘GA21’ version of ‘Superstylin” while CD 2 (‘Balearic’) features similar fresh reinterpretations of ‘Paper Romance,’ ‘Edge Hill,’ and ‘Little By Little’. The third disc (‘Live’) includes their live performance at Brixton while CD 4 (‘Radio’) covers radio edits and includes new versions of ‘I’ll Be Searching For You’ and ‘Superstylin”.
