Erik Satie, the visionary French composer and pianist, left an indelible mark on classical music through his innovative and eccentric approach. The album "Satie, E.: Piano Works (1906-19); Pièces humouristiques & Other Works" delves into Satie's genius, characterized by simplicity, humor, and a rejection of traditional norms.

The young, already internationally successful Austrian baritone and ensemble member of the Munich Gärtnerplatztheater Daniel Gutmann presents songs by Robert Schumann based on poems by Heinrich Heine with Maximilian Kromer, piano, on this CD. In addition to Schumann's most popular song cycle, "Dichterliebe" Op. 48, from which the title of this album, "Tränenflut", is taken, this recording also finds the "Liederkreis" Op. 24 with it's nine songs enter this compilation. In addition, Gutmann and Kromer interpret with "Belshazzar", Op. 57, and "Die zwei Grenadiere", Op. 49/1, Schumann's settings of two of the German poet's best-known ballads.

After a hiatus since their last studio album in 2016, Luz de Riada is back with an exciting lineup and an upcoming album, ‘Rizoma’. The album title carries a dual meaning: in biology, it refers to “a form of root that can generate wholly, even from a small piece,” as explained by bass guitarist Luis Nasser. In the realms of psychology and philosophy, ‘Rizoma’ refers to “the structure of ideas in the form of a network (neural or the internet) that can reconnect in multiple ways rather than a top to bottom hierarchy,” Nasser adds.

Originally released in 1963, “Caravan” was Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers' first album for Riverside Records. Featured in addition to Blakey are Freddie Hubbard (trumpet), Curtis Fuller (trombone), Wayne Shorter (sax), Cedar Walton (piano) and Reggie Workman (bass). This reissue features remastered audio from the original master tapes and is available on 192/24 hi res digital.

Granted, these preludes are miniatures, however they also form a whole twice as long as the sonata, when considered in their totality.

Israeli American pianist Ran Dank makes his solo debut recording juxtaposing works by Poland's national composer Frederic Chopin and the American Pulitzer Prize-winning William Bolcom, revealing their common affinity for the keyboard and ear for sound and sense of structure.

Plangliedli, Lanzigliedli, Herbstliedli, Heiwehliedli: dialect texts and cozy sounds in the art song? This is more than a beautiful dream. The singer Sybille Diethelm and the pianist Fabienne Romer present precious, imaginative, poetic and humorous settings of poems by the dialect poet Meinrad Lienert (1865-1933). And with him it's a bit like with Mozart: you like his poems if you only hear them once without knowing exactly why. And if you deal with them more extensively, it can happen that you almost "git" with joy because they are so charming and eloquent and so full of fine details.

This recording is already the artist’s second encounter with Niccolò Paganini. After the 2014 album “Hommage á Paganini”, this is now the complete Opus 1 of the great Italian.
