Adapted from a novel by Yasunari Kawabata, the first Japanese author to be awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature, Sound of the Mountain typifies Naruse’s preferred genre of shomin-geki (films about the daily lives of ordinary people). Set in the ancient seaside town of Kamakura, Kawabata’s home, Sound of the Mountain depicts the increasingly close relationship between a childless young woman, Kikuko (Setsuko Hara), and her father-in-law, Shingo (So Yamamura), to whom she turns as her own marriage, to the neglectful and philandering Shuichi (Ken Uehara), disintegrates. A domestic drama of rare existential insight and emotional subtlety, Sound of the Mountain draws on the concerns of Naruse’s earlier marriage films, including Repast (even the pairing of stars Hara and Uehara is reprised), to offer a profoundly moving account of the complex relationship that develops between an older man and a younger woman.

The Layla Sessions 20th Anniversary Edition is a 3CD box set by Derek And The Dominos. Released on 30 August, 1990 by Polydor, this honored the 20th anniversary of the album Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs which featured an all new mix of the album, jam sessions, plus alternate takes and outtakes. While scans do not include the booklet, it does feature the tracksheets copied for the box set.

L'Étagere Du Travail is a companion album to the 2013 release "Le Sacre Du Travail" and is only available on CD. No Vinyl Edition exists! This album is a Fan-Only release and is exclusive. Although the quality is high, these are demos nonetheless. Most of the instruments are played by Andy Tillison. Includes full extended version of "Dialogue du vent et de la mer" by Claude Debussy (featuring Luke Machin on guitar) as well as songs taken from an aborted Tangent album. Album comes in Digipack Case with colour cover. Number 2 in the bands Shelved Work Series. Also includes several revisited tracks!

For those who lack the cash or incentive to invest in Bear Family's mammoth eight-CD Rock 'N' Roll Years box set, this two-CD, 40-song overview of Conway Twitty's 1958-1963 MGM sides is a fine summary of his early career. Nearly all his Top Hundred chart hits are here, as are numerous flops, B-sides, and LP tracks. It's true that these were the most rock-oriented years of Twitty's long career, and also that many of these sides are derivative of early Elvis Presley……..
