After having established himself as a popular U.K. DJ in the late '80s, John "00" Fleming overcame a lengthy bout with lung cancer and reestablished himself as an even more popular DJ in the U.K. during the late '90s and early 2000s, spinning popular trance regularly at superclubs like Gatecrasher, God's Kitchen, Ministry of Sound, and Cream. In addition to his reputation as a DJ, Fleming also dabbled with production, recording trance anthems for React and Bondage, the most noteworthy being "Lost in Emotion" (1999). Furthermore, he has also remixed tracks for an array of producers such as Brain Bashers, X Cabs, Joi Cardwell, Erasure, Bushbabies, and many others.

At the beginning, this approach might have seemed something of a risk, but the idea has evolved to the point where it has been described by Berlin’s respected regional broadcaster RBB as “a successful formula for delivering very great concerts.” “Celtic Roots” was another in this line of triumphs; success has evidently now become a matter of habit.

Aly & Fila's acclaimed Future Sound of Egypt radio show has reached the almighty milestone of 500 episodes. As is customary, the duo and the label have performed a sell-out world tour to their legions of fans from the United States to the Great Pyramids of Giza and beyond. To celebrate this spectacular feat, FSOE are releasing a compilation of 5 mixes to represent the various sounds from across their spectrum of labels. 2017 saw the introduction of the progressive sounds of FSOE UV, which is A&R'd by prog house veteran Paul Thomas, who delivers the first mix.
