Recorded on May 2, 1970 at the Pittsburg Civic Arena during The Doors' final tour with Jim Morrison as lead vocalist, "Live In Pittsburgh" captures a spectacular concert performance from the legendary quartet. A single-disc tour de force, the album features over an hour of incendiary energy from Morrison, keyboardist Ray Manzarek, drummer John Densmore, and guitarist Robby Krieger as they take the audience on an epic musical journey. The powerful recording was expertly mixed and mastered by the Doors' longtime engineer/producer Bruce Botnic, who recorded several shows from the band's now-historic '70 tour on multitrack tape for the Absolutely Live album. Along with classic Doors hits and choice covers, highlights include Morrison's improvisational riffing during an exciting 22-plus minute version of "When The Music's Over," leading the band into bits of songs they'd never played life

When the Doors were playing at the Matrix club in San Francisco on March 7 and March 10 of 1967, unofficial tapes were made of their performances. Two years after the Beatles rolled out the hits for the final time further up the West Coast at Candlestick Park – and over a year into a Rolling Stones touring hiatus – The Doors played a set at the Hollywood Bowl that is widely regarded to be their finest ever captured on film. Although they weren’t necessarily filling a gap on the live circuit left by their contemporaries it’s clear from this recording that they were keen to impress the 18,000 people who filled the Bowl on July 5, 1968. It’s a tight, musically impressive, well-paced set that falls at that sweet spot in The Doors’ career, between the laid-back hesitancy of early club performances and the often overblown, strident, and bluesy improvisation of later gigs like the two-hour plus 1970 set released as Live in Detroit. Here, the band are well-rehearsed, locked-in, and ooze intensity.

LIVE IN NEW YORK is a six-disc collection that contains all four of The Doors’ final tour performances—in their entirety—recorded in 1970 at the Felt Forum in New York City. Recorded January 17 and 18, 1970—just a few weeks before the release of Morrison Hotel—these concerts find Jim Morrison, John Densmore, Robby Krieger, and Ray Manzarek locked in tight as they deliver smoking takes on soon-to-be-classics from their forthcoming album.
Fans will be blown away by the crisp sound found on LIVE IN NEW YORK. All four shows were mixed and mastered by the band’s longtime engineer, Bruce Botnick, who recorded a number of shows from The Doors’ 1970 tour on multi-track tape for the Absolutely Live album. Sadly, these shows represent The Doors’ final New York City performances with Morrison, who passed away July 3, 1971.
