The new album by Swedish Metal band Bullet entered the swedish charts at #1 in the Hard Rock Charts, #4 in the Physical Charts and #30 in the album charts. These are the best entries since 2012. In Germany the album entered the official Media Control album Charts at #45 which is the best entry in their career. Swedish metal act Bullet released their first new album since 2014!! Bullet from Växjö have been on the metal scene since 2001, released five excellent studio albums to date, toured most European countries several times, opened for AC/DC in front of 55,000 people in 2009 and played some of Europe s most prestigious festivals, such as Rock Am Ring, Graspop, Sweden Rock, Rock Hard, Keep It True, Headbangers Open Air and Wacken (twice!). The band has eaten dirt in the true sense of the word and transformed it into musical gold, as their programmatic album title hints. Our new songs are about life on the road, about freedom, adventure and the endless fun that passionate metal bands have, Hampus Klang explains…
Make no mistake, Rhino Bucket attracted several antagonists keen to shoot ‘em down and pull them over the coals for resembling prime era AC/DC. Of course, right thinking individuals having heard the band’s music, instantly dismissed the complaints as irrelevant. Sure, Rhino Bucket certainly took a good look at the kings of boogie, but they were walking their own path to enlightenment, making for compelling listening. Formed in Los Angeles during the late 80s, the band made a conscious effort to avoid any hair band clichés and concentrate d instead on building a grass roots reputation for serious riffing, packing out sweat soaked clubs. Their debut album contained a brace of high energy tracks, designed to grab attention and put authenticity back into a scene that was fast dying on spandex legs.
If glam-era rockers Geordie are remembered for much these days, it is for handing on vocalist Brian Johnson to AC/DC at a time when most observers reckoned both he (and they) were long past their sell-by date. Geordie, in particular, had scarcely been heard of in seven years, failing even to impact on the one recent movement that seemed custom-built for them, the so-called New Wave of British Heavy Metal. But AC/DC knew what they were getting, and anyone casting their ears back to Geordie's prime will realize they weren't kidding themselves. Reiterating (of course) the string of singles that Geordie cut between 1972-1975, The Singles Collection opens with the solid quartet upon which their reputation is still based, the hits "Don't Do That," "All Because of You," "Can You Do It," and "Red Eyed Lady."
The twelve song Ready for Rock 'n' Roll disc is a repackaged collection of covers from days gone by, before Great White splintered into a pair of rival groups. "Sin City" starts that remake action, which includes a cool medley entitled "Bitches and Other Women".
Outside of their native Australia, Rose Tattoo aren't as well known as their countrymen AC/DC – and they haven't been together quite as long. AC/DC were formed in 1973, while Rose Tattoo's original lineup got started in 1976. But folks who really know hard rock inside and out will tell you that Rose Tattoo are a hard rock institution…
AC/DC were not the only Australia-based rock band that specialized in boogie-based hard rock and tales of hard living – as evidenced by the underrated Rose Tattoo. While Rose Tattoo enjoyed success in their homeland and in Europe, the group – fronted by a chrome-domed chap named Angry Anderson – barely managed to cause a blip on the rock & roll radar stateside…
The Firm were a British rock supergroup composed of singer Paul Rodgers (Free and Bad Company), guitarist Jimmy Page (The Yardbirds and Led Zeppelin), drummer Chris Slade (Manfred Mann's Earth Band, Uriah Heep and AC/DC) and bass player Tony Franklin. Both Page and Rodgers refused to play any material from their former bands and instead opted for a selection of Firm songs plus tracks from both their solo albums. The new songs were heavily infused with a soulful and more commercially accessible sound, courtesy of Franklin's fretless bass guitar underpinning an understated song structure. Mean Business is the second and final studio album by The Firm, released by Atlantic Records on 3 February 1986.
