Akira Sakata

Reissue of the Akira Sakata trio, a jazz of that debuted in the 1980's. After the disbanding of the Yosuke Yamashita Trio, this live album of full of angry waves of jazz came from the newly formed Akira Sakata Trio that challenged their former leader, forming their own trio. Young Hiroshi Yoshino time (b), and led the Fujii Nobuo (ds), surging united with the energy of the three fully open, created this heroic feat of free jazz music live. The sophomore effort by Akira Sakata's quartet Bonjintan, which translates into "ordinary person" might actually be better interpreted as "egalitarian." Notice that neither the quartet's name nor the album cover mention the saxophonist's name. Like the initial, self-titled 2017 release on Sakata's Daphnia Records, Dental Kafka focuses on a quartet sound and four equal musicians improvising.

Keizō Inoue, auch Keizou Inoue war ein japanischer Jazz- und Improvisationsmusiker (Alt- und Sopransaxophon, Klarinette). Keizō Inoue spielte in der Schulband Klarinette und war während des Zweiten Weltkriegs auch Mitglied der Militärkapelle Toyama. Nach Kriegsende trat er in amerikanischen Truppenkasinos in Hiroshima auf; ab 1945 war er auch Mitglied des Chugoku Hoso Orchester. Er studierte an der Universität Hiroshima und am Elizabeth-Musikkolleg. Nachdem er sich mit Free Jazz beschäftigt hatte, begann er sich ab 1974 als professioneller Musiker zu betätigen. 1975 legte er sein Debütalbum Intimate (Columbia) vor, das mit Kazumi Watanabe, Ryūichi Sakamoto, Shūichi Murakami und Akira Sakata entstanden war. 1977 nahm er mit Kaoru Abe und Tatsuya Nakamura ein Livealbum auf (Live at 八王子アローン, DIW).

Hideaki Ishi ( 石 英明 ), better known by his stage name DJ Krush, is a record producer and DJ. He is known for his atmospheric instrumental production which incorporates sound elements from nature and extensive use of jazz and soul samples. Aside from being considered one of the pioneers of Japanese hip hop, Ishi has established himself as one of the most respected artists and producers in the hip hop industry, both in Japan and abroad. He is prefers to exercise an ideological distance from the genres he is usually grouped into, while maintaining a healthy appreciation for all music forms and styles. "Jaku" is his eighth solo album. It features guest appearances from American rappers Mr. Lif and Aesop Rock, both of whom were signed to the Definitive Jux label at that time.

2nd album by Turkish free jazzers KONSTRUKT and the Japanese avant-garde / noise icon KEIJI HAINO, this time recorded live in concert. Celebrating their 10th anniversary these days, KONSTRUKT have since been creating an impressive catalogue including collaborations / performances with significant musicians like PETER BRÖTZMANN, JOE MCPHEE, WILLIAM PARKER, AKIRA SAKATA, MARSHALL ALLEN, EVAN PARKER, THURSTON MOORE, MICHAEL ZERANG, ALFRED HARTH or ALEXANDER HAWKINS that gained them an ever growing audience and media attention (e.g. a recent WIRE feature), and they keep exploring new grounds.

The latest entry in the ongoing series of exciting collaborations sees the Turkish free form ensemble Konstrukt live on stage with Thurston Moore.

Made In Japan - Live At Shinjuku Pit Inn, 9th April 2012 is the 2012 live CD by Jazz Hijokaidan. Recorded live at Shinjuku Pit Inn in Tokyo, Japan on 9 April, 2012, this album, features one massive burst of free jazz that doesn't end for about 35 minutes and it is beautiful. This was released by Doubtmusic.

After BonJinTan's tour, together with Akira Sakata, Jim O'Rourke and Tatsuhisa Yamamoto, in the summer of 2018 Giovanni Di Domenico recorded, in just two nights, with the help of O'Rourke himself, his third solo work.
