Son of famed vibist Terry Gibbs, drummer Gerry teams up to record this debut of the second incarnation of The Gerry Gibbs Thrasher Band with 5 multi-talented instrumentalist from all over the state of Texas to create the Gerry Gibbs Thrasher Band 2 ,which played and toured together for 5 years.The 6 musicians of the”Thrasher Band” play 27 instruments between them on this date. Instruments include, Soprano, Alto, Tenor & Baritone Saxophones,Piccolo, Flute, Alto Flute, Bass Flute, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Acoustic & Electric Guitars, Vibraphone, Glockenspiel, Acoustic Piano, Mini Moog, Melodica, Harmonica, Trumpet, Acoustic Bass, Drums, Balifone, Kalimba, Recorder, Wood Flute, Gongs, Vocals, & Misc. This whopping 30-CD box set gathers together the best of Trojan's three-disc box set series. Included are the Ska, DJ, Dub, Instrumentals, Jamaican Superstars, Lovers, Producer Series, Rocksteady, Roots, and Tribute to Bob Marley volumes, each of which can be found under Trojan Box Set for their individual reviews. What's lacking here is a booklet with additional notes and information; the bulk seems to demand some extra coverage and care, yet all that's here are the original notes of each volume – only as much text as can fit on the back of the CD sleeves. From a music standpoint, however, this box is excellent; a truly diverse and comprehensive collection. Of the 500 songs, less than ten reappear on another volume, so you get a more-than-satisfying amount of music spanning the history of the Trojan label.

Originally released in 1976, ‘Reggae Masterpiece’ demonstrated the growing authority of Jamaican producer Joe Gibbs. Over the preceding nine years, the former electrical engineer had increasingly tightened his grip on the island’s music industry with innumerable best-selling 45s.
The pulling power of his hit-making status by the mid-70s is reflected in the artists featured on the album, with the selection featuring tracks by such reggae royalty as Jacob Miller, Horace Andy, Cornel Campbell and Lloyd Parks.
Previously unavailable on CD, the collection is now further enhanced from the cream of Gibbs’s the cream of Gibbs’ output from the period, including major Jamaican hits from Gregory Issacs Leo Graham, I Roy, Silford Walker and many more. Featuring a dozen tracks unavailable since their original issue on vinyl.
