This is by no accident. In many ways, “You Are Free To Choose” captures the spirit of Junius Paul’s artistic roots. Corey, Justin, and Vincent were among the multigenerational cadre of Chicago musicians present when Junius chose to follow his own path of creative discovery at the storied Velvet Lounge on the South Side of the city back in October of 2002.

A Tribute To The Pirate Stations (1964-1974) "Golden Years of Pop Music" On April 21, 2010, it will be 50 years since Radio Veronica began broadcasting from a ship just outside the territorial waters. Carmen McRae (1922 - 1994) was one of the great jazz vocalists of the 20th century – next to Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan. Born in Harlem, New York, she played the piano at "Minton's Playhouse” in the 1940s, a club where the young beboppers like Dizzy Gillespie and Carmen's husband-to-be Kenny Clarke developed this new music. Next important career steps were an engagement with the Benny Carter band as a pianist and with Count Basie - as a singer. Having spent four years in Chicago from 1948 on, she finally signed an artist contract in her hometown New York and went on to release twelve albums over the next five years.

This 6-CD boxed set traces Waylon Jennings' early career from that first single to April 1968. After Holly's death, Waylon Jennings went to Arizona. His legendarily rare Phoenix album, 'Waylon at J.D.'s' is here, together with singles and demo's from the years in Arizona. The early folk-country recordings for A&M are also complete for the first time, including Four Strong Winds, Just To Satisfy You, and several unissued recordings.
