Elvis Presley (released in the UK as Elvis Presley Rock n' Roll) is the debut studio album by American rock and roll singer Elvis Presley. It was released by RCA Victor, on March 23, 1956 (catalog number LPM-1254). The recording sessions took place on January 10 and January 11 at the RCA Victor Studios in Nashville, Tennessee, and on January 30 and January 31 at the RCA Victor studios in New York. Additional material originated from sessions at Sun Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, on July 5, August 19 and September 10, 1954, and on July 11, 1955.

Recorded between 1970 and 1971 in sessions at Hitsville U.S.A., Golden World, United Sound Studios in Detroit, and at The Sound Factory in West Hollywood, California, it was Gaye's first album to credit him as producer and to credit Motown's in-house session musicians, known as the Funk Brothers. The album was an immediate commercial and critical success, and came to be viewed by music historians as a classic of 1970s soul. Multiple critics, musicians, and many in the general public consider What's Going On to be one of the greatest albums of all time and a landmark recording in popular music. In 1985, writers on British music weekly the NME voted it the best album of all time. In 2020, it was ranked number one on Rolling Stone's list of the "500 Greatest Albums of All Time".

"Ride a Rock Horse" is the 2nd solo studio album by English singer Roger Daltrey, released on 4 July 1975 by Track in the UK and MCA in the US. "Ride a Rock Horse" was recorded during Daltrey's filming commitments for Ken Russell's film Lisztomania. The album's cover, which is photographed and designed by Daltrey's cousin Graham Hughes, depicts the singer as a rampant centaur. Three singles were issued from Ride a Rock Horse: "Come and Get Your Love", "Walking the Dog" and "Oceans Away". "Come and Get Your Love" peaked at #68 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and "Walking the Dog", a cover of the Rufus Thomas song, peaked at #52 on the UK Singles Chart. The album itself peaked at #14 on the UK Albums Chart and at #28 on the US Billboard 200. The song, "Hearts Right", had a music video with graphics and animation by Gerald Scarfe, who would later become known for his work with Pink Floyd.

Dance music trio The Chimes (producers Mike Peden and James Locke from Edinburgh and vocalist Pauline Henry, born in Jamaica) enjoyed critical and commercial success at the beginning of the 90's on both sides of the Atlantic and further afield with their eponymous album and the clutch of singles that were released from it. The group blended together modern R&B, Soul, Pop and Dance sensibilities with Henry's expressive vocals which put them amongst the acts at the forefront of the UK's Soul/Dance scene of the time.
