The film documentary shines a spotlight on the wild ride of maverick entrepreneur Michael Gudinski who defied convention and revolutionised the Australian music industry. This 44 track, 3CD set is the soundtrack to Michael Gudinski's life in music and Mushroom's contribution to Australian music over the past 50 years. Ego: The Michael Gudinski Story will be screening nationally in cinemas from August 31 (2023).

Vespero got together as a quartet (Arkady Fedotov - vocals, bass, flute, synths; Valentin Rulev - violin, synths; Ivan Fedotov - drums, percussion; Alexander Kuzovlev - guitar, bass, synths) in Astrakhan (south of Russia) 2003 on the common interest in playing psychedelic music. Later Natalya Tjurina (vocals) joined, and the band moved into more progressive rock-related areas. As their Moscow fellows Kaftan Smekha, Vespero are deeply influenced by avant theatre and experimental poetry. Since the very first demos their sound has been influenced by Gong, early Pink Floyd, Faust and related bands from that era. Highly recommended for all fans of these (and beyond!).

One of rock's more elaborate, beguiling and strangely rewarding concept albums, this double-vinyl classic stars the ever-theatrical Peter Gabriel as Rael, a Puerto Rican street punk who descends into the New York underground to experience a series of surreal adventures. ("It seemed that prancing around in fairyland was rapidly becoming obsolete," Gabriel explained to his biographer.) Bassist Mike Rutherford, however, wanted to base the band's last album with Gabriel, who'd announced his intention to leave Genesis, on Saint-Exupéry's The Little Prince.

What happens when you take a master of progressive rock and an accomplished Nashville producer engineer, and put them together with a host of top-flight Nashville session players to reinterpret one of the most revered 70s prog double-albums? In the case of Spock s Beard drummer Nick D'Virgilio and producer engineer Mark Hornsby, you get Rewiring Genesis A Tribute To The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, and it's fantastic. While the original featured layers of classic synthesizers (ARP, Mellotron, etc.), there's none of that fake string or choir stuff going on here. Besides rock guitar, bass, and Nick's great drumming (and tasteful lead vocal work), The Lamb is filled with real strings, huge vocal arrangements, horn sections, and even some accordion! Clearly, it's not attempting to simply re-record the classic, it's a fresh and beautiful sounding reinterpretation.

It’s just over 40 years since global music icon Dionne Warwick signed with Arista Records marking a defining fifteen-year chapter in the star-studded career of the Lifetime Achievement and multi-Grammy-winning songstress, celebrated here with this first-of-its-kind box set of her (159) recordings for the label. Included are (29) bonus tracks, with nine of the twelve albums as expanded editions of the original Arista LPs, with remastering by Nick Robbins.
