Popa Chubby plays loud blues-rock, plain and simple. The songs on this 1999 outing are almost all originals from his pen, with Otis Redding's "I've Been Loving You Too Long" and Jimi Hendrix's "The Wind Cries Mary" being the only covers aboard…..

A nice album with 16 top hits of the American singer, songwriter and pianist, Mort Shuman. He used to sing in French and he was very popular in France and Canada. This album contains all his french songs. Remember again "Le triangle des Bermudes (Ici Papa Tango Charlie)", "Le Lac Majeur", "Sorrow" and many other beuatiful songs. He was very talented and his voice had a captivating melancholy. Just hear the song "Sorrow" and you will see what I mean. He passed away very young (54 y/o). He had so much still to give.

In Blonde from Brooklyn, Bob Haymes (credited as Robert Stanton) plays ex-G.I. Dixon Harper, an aspiring crooner looking for a gig singing on the radio for a sponsor named "Plantation Coffee." Considering the name of the company, he figures playing a "southerner" will get him the job, and he ropes pretty blonde singer Susan Parker (Lynn Merrick) into the idea with him (since earlier he'd accidentally helped her lose her job as a jukebox girl). But they find they need a coach and that's where Thurston Hall comes in as "The Colonel". The Colonel's a hustler himself and is willing to coach them in Southern ways in exchange for a "stipend". It looks like the kids get the gig, but complications arise when the phony Southern-style name that the Colonel has given Susan, "Bellwithers", turns out to be attached to an $800,000 inheritance. Susan can't live with the fraud, leading to a series of zany consequences as she and the Colonel and Dixon attempt to find a way out.

French saxophonist Horellou also goes under the name Dual Snake, and seems equally at home working in a variety of musical genres as he does with jazz. Brooklyn is a pretty mainstream quartet outing, full of enjoyable compositions that Horellou has penned himself, and seven originals plus Tadd Damerons If You Could See Me Now makes up a solid set for the 70 minutes duration.

Mooroolbark is an album by Australian jazz pianist and composer Barney McAll, released on the ABC Classics Label in May of 2015. Other than the composition: "Apple Tree," which has a live and studio version on the album and "Sparkler," all the tracks were recorded in ABC Studios (Australia), with additions made in Tokyo by Shannon Barnett and Brooklyn by Mino Cinelu. The name of the album, "Mooroolbark" is the Wurundjeri ethnic name for the area where McAll grew up, which McCall says is "why I play music."
