Brother Ape

Brother Ape is a very fine act consisting of four very talented as well as skilled musicians. Stefan Damicolas (vocals, guitars), who is writing most of the material with all tracks arranged together with the rest of the band, Peter Dahlstrom (vocals, bass, keyboards), Gunnar Maxén (bass, keyboards, vocals) and Max Bergman (drums, percussion). Musically their sound is a unique blend of progressive rock and fusion. At times chord changes are somewhat in the vein of 70's fusion bands such as Weather Report or Brand X, but performed with quite heavy, but also kind of sophisticated guitars rather than 70's keyboard sounds. They've also got one foot in the more traditional progressive rock style with Saga, Yes, Rush and maybe also some A.C.T influences with the end result creating an original yet accessible sound of their own. Dashes of Zappa's rockier style can also be found in their music.

Brother Ape happily portray their scintillating seventh studio album ‘Karma’ as being “the result of their current point of evolution”. It’s an astute comment which casts a revealing light on the ways in which the band have been developing across the four years since the release of the pulsating ‘Force Majeure’ in 2014. ‘Karma’ is, in many ways, a work of and in progress and clearly reflects the exciting and eager music of a working band who have spent the last few years playing festivals, clubs and gigs across their native Sweden. As a prelude to the creation of the new album they released three digital EPs in 2015-2016. The best tracks from these releases became the ‘seeds’ which form the bedrock of ‘Karma’ alongside the composition of new songs and material…

Brother to Brother is the sixth studio album by Canadian singer Gino Vannelli. The album was released in 1978. The album featured "I Just Wanna Stop", Gino's highest-charting single to date in both the US and Canada, where the single reached #4 and #1 respectively, as well as the singles "Wheels of Life" and "The River Must Flow".

Big Brother & the Holding Company is the debut album from Big Brother and the Holding Company and the studio debut of Janis Joplin. The album was originally released in the summer of 1967, following the band's major success at the Monterey Pop Festival.

A reissue of a rarity record; "Sister, Brother, Lover…." was the only album from Scottish band, Northwind, in 1971. In a Beatles type of story, Northwind started on the club scene before venturing to Germany, picking up some psychedelia and krautrock in Frankfurt. They recorded an album and went around supporting the big guns; Free, Hawkwind, Fleetwood Mac. However, without much support from the management and the label, they soon disbanded. This is an album of powerful rock which edges toward early prog and kraut whilst remaining it’s own, unique thing.

The concept of TALKING WITH THE BLUES is based on a view of the various US states as blues regions. Even casual blues listeners are familiar with the fact that there is Chicago Blues or Mississippi Blues and the gripping social history of the music is very much marked by its geography. But there is much more that just those two places and to this day blues music stays committed to local styles. Moreover, many US states are endowed with a unique cultural identity grown out of the prevailing social, historical and ethnic realities. Reflections of these specific identities are also expressed in the blues.
