Razormaid was started in the mid 80's by Joseph Watt and Art Maharg in San Francisco, California as a music service for working club DJs. Their objective was to offer something other than just the regular versions that everyone had in their record bins. They created their own special versions of songs by editing and sometimes remixing the hottest club tunes being played (or about to be played) around the world. Their re-edited tracks set them apart from every other DJ service at the time and the music that they chose was some of the most cutting edge stuff available.

A leading vihuela specialist, the Argentinian virtuoso Ariel Abramovich has already devoted two albums to the favourite instrument of the Iberian Renaissance, the first on Arcana (Esteban Daça, El Parnasso, A316, 2002) and the second on Carpe Diem (Diego Pisador, Si me llaman, 2009). For this third instalment he is joined by one of the world’s most respected and innovative solo lutenists, Jacob Heringman, for a vihuela duo project which is the result of years of research and performing. While there is a significant number of publications for two lutes from the sixteenth century, only one of the seven collections for vihuela de mano includes duets, and it is precisely that collection that was the main source of inspiration for this project.

'With “Orion” Lemongrass presents itself at its best. A flawless, top-class performance with a fresh and unadulterated spirit, which appears with a strong and unrestrained sense of joy and passion. Summery lightness leads the way, skilfully brought to life with a wealth of stylistic and musical means. While “Kyoto Garden” recurrently documents the fascination for Japanese-Asian culture, “Aldebaran” is a deep research into the unfathomable universe, which perfectly characterizes the atmosphere of previous Lemongrass releases. According to Greek mythology, Artemis moved the hunter “Orion” as a constellation to the sky, where he still portrays the beautiful Pleiades. Similarly, Lemongrass could end up with this timelessly beautiful album at the musical firmament. But most definitely, it cemented its place in the highest echelons of electronic listening music. '
