Camilla Way

Artist and singer Camilla Svane has performed on stage throughout her career in a variety of genres and venues. Her love for jazz has guided her to her first recorded album of her most cherished jazz standards. The album "My Interpretations" is released 27 October 2023.

“500 Years of Reformation” – a musical journey through the history of the Reformation. The album contains works by Eccard, Praetorius, Jacobi, Buxtehude, Bach, Reger, Langlais and a world premiere and first recording to top the album off. The composer, saxophonist and flautist Daniel Schnyder engages with Luther’s “Feste Burg” and creates his own version in the musical form of an oratorio. This work was commissioned by the Frauenkirche Dresden to mark the Luther Decade.

Love plays a significant part in most operas, but all too often it is frustrated, or entangled with deception, humiliation and betrayal. With her new disc Camilla Tilling presents a near-comprehensive catalogue of the emotions that the vagaries of love can raise in the breast of an operatic heroine. And these emotions are universal and timeless, afflicting servants and countesses, Grecian princesses, a sorceress from Damascus and a young lady of 18th-century Naples alike.
