Fern Kinney’s 1979 debut album “Groove Me” did not produce any across the board smashes like Anita Ward or Stephanie Mills did. But it did produce two club classics that set dance floors on fire and that was no easy feat during Disco obsessed 1979. Both the title track and “Baby Let Me Kiss You” became regulars at clubs across the country. A closer listen to Fern Kinney’s full length album shows the Northern Soul vocalist at home with Disco, R&B, Quiet Storm ballads and Pop Music. An accomplished vocalist, Kinney at times sounds like Deniece Williams. “Under Fire”, “Angel On The Ground”, “Pillow Talk”, and “Together We Are Beautiful” are all lush mid-tempo R&B songs with a driving Disco beat. “Sun, Moon, Rain” is the sole ballad on the set and Kinney handles it well.

They've been applauded by rock pioneer, visionary, and former Rolling Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham. They're championed by "E Street" legend Little Steven Van Zandt and heard just about every day on the Underground Garage. Now The Connection on the roll again with their new album. - "Labor Of Love" is the soundtrack to the love child of Nick Lowe, Flamin' Groovies, the Kinks, and Graham Parker stumbling through the Bowery with the swagger of Exile-era Rolling Stones; finishing off the night by passing out on the Ramones' studio floor.

With the huge success recently of music from films, it's a great time for a compilation to round up the mega-hits that have come from, or been used in, films from the 60s onwards. Opening with the epic Whitney Houston blockbuster from ’The Bodyguard’, the first disc also features ‘(I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life’ from ‘Dirty Dancing’, ‘Happy’ from ‘Despicable Me 2’, and title track smashes from ‘Ghostbusters’, ‘9 to 5’ and ‘Footloose’. We’ve also included ABBA’s original version of ‘Mamma Mia’ and the fabulous ‘Grease Megamix’ which combines three huge tracks from ‘Grease’.
