Tom Petersson gets to show his stuff on a Fender acoustic bass on the intro of California Man followed by Neilson's soloing. Soon he is jamming full form, and Carlos has joined in on the drums. Finally Zander comes out screaming going to a party. The band slows down for The Flame, and Zander proves he can still sing a ballad. Elvis would have been proud of the band's cover of Don't Be Cruel. Zander and Petersson both riff on acoustics while Nielsen adds a bit of zip to the song. Two old favorites are brought out to close the show I Want You to Want Me and Surrender.
While their records were entertaining and full of skillful pop, it wasn't until At Budokan that Cheap Trick's vision truly gelled.
