Connoisseurs of 1960s girl-pop have been well served in the CD era, particularly those with a preference for American or British singers. Good music, of course, is not exclusive to the English-speaking world, and collections devoted to the female vocalists of France, Japan, Spain and Germany are also available, but to the best of my knowledge their Italian counterparts have not been anthologised. If “Ciao Bella!”, released as a 24-track CD and a 12-track 180g white vinyl LP in gatefold sleeve, is the first of its kind, let’s hope it’s not the last.

Following the trios led by Stefano Bollani and Giovanni Guidi, Roma Trio is another splendid piano trio from Italy that debuted on Venus Records. The youngish trio consists of pianist Luca Mannutza, bassist Gianluca Renzi and drummer Nicola Angelucci. They are all up-and-coming artists who have played with Paolo Fresu, Steve Grossman, Fabrizio Bosso, Marc Johnson and Giovanni Mirabassi. The Italian jazz scene is really hot right now, and this trio is one of the top groups in the country.

Above the album worked the Ciao Italia - 50 Italo-Hits, and his release took place on 2023. The album has got songs with a total duration of more than an hour. A compilation is a compilation of original music.

Since Giovanni Zarrella presented his celebrated "La vita è bella" solo debut in the summer of 2019, he has been one of the biggest stars of the current pop-song landscape: directly number 2 in Germany, meanwhile awarded with triple gold and with the announcement of his own ZDF Saturday evening show immediately the next accolade. Now the likeable all-rounder is ringing in the second chapter of his solo career: The new album "CIAO!", on which he transfers more great German hits with his ancestral producer Christian Geller into Italian.
