On the liner notes to Freak Out!, the 1967 debut album by Zappa's original band the Mothers of Invention, Zappa listed some seventy-two names on the liner notes and cited them as influences. The Freak Out List intends to explore who these artists are and what influence they had on Zappa's music. This listing encompasses all sorts of music, from classical composer Edgar Varese to R&B star Johnny "Guitar" Watson to jazzman Eric Dolphy to flamenco guitarist Sabicas….

Catalan architect Antonio Gaudí (1852–1926) designed some of the world’s most astonishing buildings, interiors, and parks; Japanese director Hiroshi Teshigahara constructed some of the most aesthetically audacious films ever made. Here their artistry melds in a unique, enthralling cinematic experience. Less a documentary than a visual poem, Teshigahara’s Antonio Gaudí takes viewers on a tour of Gaudí’s truly spectacular architecture, including his massive, still-unfinished masterpiece, the Sagrada Familia cathedral in Barcelona. With camera work as bold and sensual as the curves of his subject’s organic structures, Teshigahara immortalizes Gaudí on film.

A Film by Alain Robbe-Grillet
DVD5 | ISO+MDS | PAL 16:9 (720x576) | 01:30:50 | 3,54 Gb
Audio: French AC3 2.0 @ 192 Kbps; Italian AC3 2.0 @ 192 Kbps | Subs: English
Genre: Avant-garde, Thriller | France, Belgium

Erotic? Serious? Funny? Tragic? A Mystery? A Game? A Paradox? Neo-Sadism? A Detective Story?
Written and directed by the high priest of the French nouveau roman, this now looks considerably more literary than cinematic. Robbe-Grillet himself plays the focal character, the author-within-the-film, dreaming up a surreal melodrama involving a man (Trintignant) who boards the same train, during a journey through Europe: dope-pushing, gangsterism, bondage fantasies. Trintignant's cool is as unshakeable as ever, but the vague 'modernism' of the project can't conceal an underlying pomposity.
