Two CD set containing BBC Sessions and concert recordings handpicked by the Scottish singer/songwriter himself. Cole and his Commotions' debut album, Rattlesnakes (1984), rightly won the singer/songwriter a coveted place in the NME's Top 100 albums of all time. It established him as one of the most articulate and acute songwriters of the Post-Punk era. The follow up, Easy Pieces spent nine weeks in the UK charts, peaking at #9. In 1990, the Commotions disbanded after their third album and Lloyd relocated to New York to release a series of critically acclaimed solo releases. This 25 track collection features exclusive versions of both his solo and Commotions material with Cole providing sleeve notes of his recollections for the recordings.

On this four-CD set are included the bulk of Nat King Cole's radio transcriptions of 1941 and 1944-45. Although the programming could be a little better (the complete sessions are not compiled strictly in chronological order), the music has a strong unity and is consistently enjoyable. Pianist-vocalist Cole and his trio (which also includes important contributions by guitarist Oscar Moore and either Johnny Miller or Wesley Prince on bass) are featured extensively both as a unit and as an accompanying group to singers Anita Boyer, Ida James, Anita O'Day and the Barrie Sisters on 33, 15, five and five songs respectively.

David Campbell grew up in the suburbs of Adelaide, Australia. His grandmother Joan, who raised him, often played recordings of Nat King Cole and Johnny Mathis during his formative years. His interest piqued, Campbell soon fell in love with entertainers like Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, among other "old-school" greats. He first won major roles in the mid-'90s at the Stables Theatre in Sydney, and was soon nominated for an MO Award for Best Musical Theatre Performer. His debut solo record, Yesterday Is Now, was released in 1997, catching the attention of fans and critics far and wide.

David Campbell knew there were legs in the idea of a new swing album when he played a little-known song called ‘Make Love’ one night in Adelaide and watched the room go wild. The same reaction repeated the next show. And the one after that.
