Country Style From October 2015

Jake made his debut as a country artist in 2014 at Larry Joe Taylor's Festival, where he played what would become the first single, HIT THE ROAD. Jake and the band cut the song as a demo and it made its way onto local radio stations in Jake’s hometown of Corpus Christi, Texas, eventually reaching the top 30 and becoming one of the top 100 Texas radio songs of 2014.

The most commercially successful Spanish singer of all time, Alejandro Sanz earned a reputation as an industrious hitmaker in his native country during the 1990s, and by the decade's end, he'd expanded his fan base internationally, broadening his style beyond romantic ballads and collaborating with fellow Latin superstars, most memorably Shakira. A talented and charismatic performer, Sanz proved immensely popular even with his debut album, 1991's Viviendo de Prisa, which was a number one hit in Spain. It wasn't until several albums later, 1997's Más, that he was able to break into the international market, however, thanks to a key hit single, "Corazón Partío," that transcended his core female audience.

The Now What’s That I Call Music Team continue their ‘Yearbook’ series with NOW Yearbook ’84 an 80-track four-CD set and 3LP coloured vinyl package that features 42 defining hits that ruled the charts in 1984, including number ones from Lionel Richie, Chaka Khan, Duran Duran, Frankie Goes To Hollywood and George Michael (solo and with Wham!), together with huge hits from U2, Spandau Ballet, and Deniece Williams. As with NOW Yearbook ’83 the four-CD set is available in deluxe hardcover book set with a 28-page book with track annotations and music quiz laid out in classic ‘eighties’ style. This is limited to 5,000 units. A slightly cheaper non-deluxe is also available (but you really don’t want to be buying that one). NOW Yearbook ’84 is out on 29 October 2021. Be aware that both the 3LP coloured vinyl and the 4CD deluxe of NOW Yearbook ’83 are already out-of-print, despite only being released in June, so don’t miss out.

A popular artist on the Syrian folk-pop circuit, Omar Souleyman is a wedding singer specializing in a high-octane version of dabke, a traditional style of music performed during line dances at weddings and other celebrations. A prolific artist, Souleyman and his band have recorded over 500 cassettes – mostly live recordings made at his wedding gigs – that have become a staple of music kiosks in major Syrian cities.
