Radiologik DJ is the DJ live assistant specifically built for the needs of radio but very useful for all DJing needs, with the exception of club mix features. It features 3 main players and one library player, all with selectable individual audio outputs, detailed time calculations, a lot of fast and smooth iTunes integration, and Nicecast artist and title publishing. It is complemented by a free separate scheduler for full station automation.

Spen began his career at the age of 13, producing mix shows for WEBB AM in Baltimore. Even at that young age, Spen founded one of the area's first hip hop production groups, the Numarx. In 1986 they wrote and recorded a track called “Girl You Know It's True”, which was later covered and made famous by Milli Vanilli. Spen’s radio career continued to grow and lead him to a radio career working at various FM radio stations in the Baltimore and Washington areas. In 1992, Spen developed a mixshow on 95.9 FM in Baltimore called the “Flashback Saturday Night Dance Party”. Though Spen eventually moved on from radio, the show is still a hit today, with Spen’s close friend KW Griff at the helm. Spen's production talents lead him to Basement Boys Records in 1989.

The title of this excellent release is somewhat overstated. Suburban Base was arguably the most prolific and iconic label of hardcore and jungle music (though less so drum & bass). There are many genre classics on this collection, but it would be impossible on three CDs to come even close to capturing hardcore and jungle’s wonderfully chaotic, punk-like DIY approach. The culture spawned hundreds if not thousands of labels and many more producers, DJs, MCs and events. Much of its output was not primarily listened to as individual tracks, at home on CD or vinyl – but heard mixed together by DJs, on pirate radio stations, at raves and on mix tapes. “Hardcore” emerged around 1990-91 from the acid house and rave scene, a brilliant mutation of influences that brought together US and European house and techno, and, increasingly, sped-up hip hop or funk-derived “breakbeats”.
The term itself describes the aesthetic of the scene – gritty and unpretentious, adding a pugnacious edge to the blissed-out hedonism of acid house.
