Window Of Life sounds very much as a logical follow up to the acclaimed The World, and justifiely so. Te production is better, the artwork is more intricated and the songs are more a unit them just a bunch of different ideas thrown together. Wheter if their quality is better than the previous one is debatable. For me both CDs are fantastic and clearly showed how much Pendragon in general and Barrett in particular have evolved…

What is 'DRIFT'? It's precisely one year inside the minds of Underworld. It's a journey that began on 1st November 2018 when the group released the track 'Another Silent Way' and set off with no map, no fixed destination and a simple mantra ('Drift is the opposite of 'normal' or 'usual' practice; we'll do this until we're dust.') 'Rick Smith and Karl Hyde's aim was to create and publish music and film episodically for 52 weeks and see where the journey took them. Within a few weeks, the experiment found its own path, prompting the electronic pioneers to react to previous releases and create new works accordingly.

Formed in the last embers of the 70’s Level 42 started as a Jazz Fusion band before embracing dance rock for which they would be best known. The band’s first single Love Meeting Love was released in 1980 to much critical acclaim which led to the debut album, the self-titled Level 42 which charted in the top 20. Throughout the 80’s the band released numerous albums and toured regularly building a large and devoted fan base – these early years are featured here. Volume One contains all the Level 42 albums from 1981 – 1984 in their original glory. Discs 6 -10 contain all the B-Sides, 7” Mixes, remixes and rare versions from those eras. Compiled in conjunction with Level 42 and band experts Paul Wallace, Paul Waller and Simon Carson. The band go out on a major tour in 2021 and are fully involved with the release of this box set. Waxwing (formerly Wilson/Lee/Bentley) unites three of Vancouver’s premier jazz musicians in a program of original compositions and improvisations that combine delicacy and strength, melodic beauty and textural sophistication. This is chamber jazz that moves between highly structured and freer playing but is always strong on form and direct emotional appeal, whether driving or more contemplative. The musicians often swap roles within pieces, exploiting the full range of expression for this unusual combination of instruments. Cellist Peggy Lee is a member of Wayne Horvitz’s Gravitas Quartet as well as his new Some Places Are Forever Afternoon project, also released this month.
