Deadpool Vol. 4 #1-18 (Ongoing) Update
Eng | RS & Hotfile | 18 CBR | Marvel Comics | Sep 10 2008 - Dec9 2009 | 323 MB Total

Here's the complete Vol. 4 series from Issue #1 released last September 10 2008 up to the current #18 released last week, December 9, 2009. When Daniel Way began writing and Paco Medina drawing their Deadpool Volume 4 run everyone was sort of noncommittal, wanting to see how they would handle a series that never pretends to be anything other than at best an uproariously funny, yet well, mindless action series occasionally bent on venting off creative and editorial steam on just about anything through fourth wall asides. After eighteen issues we know. They were meant to be with Deadpool all along, and I can't seem to think of any others filling their shoes. Save for the Legion-CPS scan of Issue #13, all high-quality Minutemen scans.

Marvel's "Merc With The Mouth" is given another vehicle to propagate his non-stop patter and fourth-wall penetrating asides (itself used by Marvel editors to vent their opinions on just about anything) and this time he is on a mission and he has a team composed of his alternate universe selves. So what's more fun than Deadpool at his mouthful best? A whole bunch of Deadpools. This ongoing was preceded by a five-issue limited series prelude (previously posted complete by Coda--just search for it) and then by a giant-sized one-shot special entitled . The one-shot is a handbook of the characters found in Deadpool's universe, complete with profiles, and is included here. Issue #1-5 are all Minutemen scans and are packed in a single-download RAR archive. Issues #6 to the current issue #8 are packed in a separate RAR archive together with the one-shot; the latter four are all CPS scans.

A disfigured, mentally unstable mercenary who started as a supervillain but gained cult popularity because of the character's peculiar balance of angst and pop culture slapstick blended with an almost non-stop stream of irreverent asides that have the tendency to break the fourth wall (the fourth wall is the boundary between the fictional setting and the audience; when this is "broken", i.e., the character directly speaks to the audience or readers; this means that he or she is aware of his standing in the story vis-a-vis the readers). Hence, "The Merc with the Mouth." This is the initial six-part story arc entitled, "Head Trips" and a double-sized issue #7 with Deadpool roughing and tumbling through several alternate realities. Sort of like breaking through the fourth wall in a tesseract...

Everyone's insane Merc-With-the-Mouth's third ongoing series with Deadpool teaming up with a new guest star every month continues with the insane in-joke reverse numbering that from the "landmark" Deadpool #900 One-Shot. Well, even the editors are having their turn through Deadpool's fourth wall-breaking humor as he teams up with the Zapata Brothers tag team bounty hunters in issue #898 and with the two Ghost Riders in issue #897. As a bonus I'll throw in a high-quality Minutemen scan of Deadpool #899.

Deadpool Team-Up #899 (New Monthly Series)
Eng | RS & Hotfile | CBR | Marvel Comics | Nov 4 2009 | 37 Pages | 14.1 MB

Everyone's insane Merc-With-the-Mouth's third ongoing series with Deadpool teaming up with a new guest star every month kicks off with this inaugural issue (never mind the mad numbering) and boy does writer Fred Van Lente deliver. Deadpool's off-the-wall brand of humor works because his tongue-in-cheek fourth-wall-breaking nature never takes itself seriously and this is where Fred Van Lente's forte shows (Boy! I never saw so many hyphens). The chemistry between Deadpool and Hercules is a perfect compound also because of this. Dalibor Talajic, who had his Marvel debut in Deadpool #900, has defnitely proven Deadpool has a good home in Europe. His rendering is not the usual sort you'll find in a Marvel comic (think Dark Horse), but he manages to portray Wade Wilson as the thoroughly expressive (in caption thoughts and in bubble words) and slapstick character that he is. IGN gave this debut issue an "Impressive" 8.3 out of 10 rating. I thought it deserved at least an 8.6.
