The "Merc With a Mouth" celebrates his 900th issue. Uhmm... 900? Not really. It's just that Deadpool became the recipient of the company's recent renumbering that's allowed to put some of their flagship titles in the triple digits--not because it is the correct ordinal sequence of issues but as an obvious in-joke, which is that given his exposure and ubiquitousness (guest appearances in almost all titles) he may have reached a milestone and should deserve the anniversary treatment. Aside from the attention-getting numbering, this issue may be a special one-shot, or maybe an annual. What it really is, is more or less an anthology of 7 odd--or weird--original Deadpool stories, most 4th-wall breaking, both plot and character-based, plus a reprint of . And interestingly, the high quality is there. With some 104 pages sans ads, you get more than enough of the character somebody once said is like Wolverine, Spider-Man and the Joker all rolled into one.
