Als Sohn russischer Emigranten lernte er zunächst in Buenos Aires und Berlin das Violinspiel, bis er schließlich 1928 an der Hochschule für Musik in Berlin aufgenommen und dort bis 1931 als Schüler von Carl Flesch im Fach Violine und von Paul Hindemith im Fach Komposition unterrichtet wurde. Am Ende seiner Studienzeit, im Alter von gerade 17 Jahren, trat er erstmals als Solist mit den Berliner Philharmonikern unter Erich Kleiber auf.

The album Essais musicaux brings together chamber music works for violin, clarinet and piano from the years 2017-2021. Three of the six pieces attempt to capture aspects of time, while the remaining compositions are inspired by the arts of painting, architecture and literature.

September 2021 - Als Falco im Frühjahr 1986 mit der Arbeit an seinem vierten Studioalbum »Emotional« begann, war er einer der wenigen international erfolgreichen Künstler, die in deutscher Sprache sangen. Mit »Rock Me Amadeus« aus seinem Vorgängeralbum »Falco 3« erreichte er im März 1986 Platz 1 der Billboard Hot 100 Charts und ist damit der einzige Künstler, der diesen historischen Gipfel in den USA mit einem deutschsprachigen Song erreicht. Zusammen mit seinem Superstar-Status in den deutschsprachigen Ländern und im größten Teil Europas zeigt dies, welche Bedeutung ein neues Falco-Album für die Musikwelt zu dieser Zeit hatte.

The story of how Johann Mattheson's political comedy Boris Goudenow came into being reads in large parts more exciting than many a mystery script: written in 1710 for the Hamburg Opera at the Gänsemarkt, the work was suddenly withdrawn by the composer. The score fell into oblivion, eventually found its way into the Hamburg City Library, and was long considered lost after World War II. It was not until the end of the 20th century that the opera was tracked down in Armenia and returned to Hamburg, where the premiere finally took place in 2005 after a delay of almost 300 years.The place of action is the Moscow Kremlin. The opera's plot revolves around the story of how the Russian prince Boris Goudenov rises to power through intrigue and becomes Russian tsar.The new Innsbruck production under the musical direction of the renowned Italian harpsichordist and conductor Andrea Marchiol makes this baroque jewel resound anew.

Der norditalienische Haudrauf oder besser römische „Orpheus“ Alessandro Stradella stellt musikalisch das Bindeglied zwischen Monteverdi und Scarlatti her. Trotz aller Arten von kriminellen Machenschaften, anrüchigen Liebesaffären, vereitelten Mordversuchen und einem unrühmlichen gewaltsamen Tod auf offener Straße fand Stradella genügend Zeit, um qualitätsvolle Musik zu schreiben, ja es gelang ihm, Geniestreiche an melodischer Invention und kühnen Studien eines klingenden „chiaroscuro“ zu hinterlassen. Die überirdisch schönen Concerti grossi von Arcangelo Corelli wären ohne Stradellas Experimentierstube undenkbar.

"Die schöne Magelone" (The Fair Magelone) is the name of a wonderful lied cycle by Johannes Brahms, which the duo Tomas Kildišius (baritone) and Ani Ter-Martirosyan (piano) is releasing as a debut CD on GENUIN. Fortunately, they have linked the 15 Romances on texts by Ludwig Tieck with the poet's original prose fragments so listeners can experience Brahms' music in the context of the entire romantic and exotic story. With her young voice, actress Jannike Liebwerth provides the setting for the Brahms interpretations of the Armenian- Lithuanian duo, whose work has been characterized from the beginning by a shared love of lieder. This can be heard in the subtle soundscapes that bring to life the adventures of Count Peter of Provence and the fair Magelone.

In einer Zeit, in der die Oper vom Papsttum oft verunglimpft wurde, erwiesen sich Stradellas Kantaten und Serenaten als enorm erfolgreich, deren Form eine Abfolge von Rezitativen, Arien und Instrumentalstücken beinhaltet. Das Thema ist der Liebesschmerz, dem Stradella mit einer grenzenlosen Vielfalt an Ausdruck und Virtuosität begegnet, sei es in den Sopran-Echoeffekten von Arsi già di una fiamma, der nahezu opernhaften Weite von Or ch’alla dea notturna oder der strukturellen Perfektion von Infinite son le pene.
