"Album(s) d’Auschwitz" raconte les histoires croisées de deux albums de photographies. Celui découvert par Lili Jacob, une jeune fille juive rescapée, au camp de Dora en 1945. Les photographies de cet album décrivent l’arrivée à Auschwitz, le 26 mai 1944, d’un convoi de juifs hongrois. Elles révèlent les quelques heures précédant le meurtre dans les chambres à gaz de la plupart d’entre eux. Lili Jacob faisait partie de ce convoi. Et l’album de Karl Höcker, officier SS, retrouvé en 2007, composé de photographies prises au cours de ce même mois de mai 1944, et qui restituent les joyeux moments de détente de Höcker et d’autres officiers SS, responsables du camp d’Auschwitz. Les photographies de ces deux albums ont toutes été prises par des SS. Mais la ressemblance s’arrête là. Chacun de ces albums est en quelque sorte, le négatif de l’autre et ce film donne à voir simultanément, dans l’impensable quotidien d’Auschwitz, ceux qui furent les victimes et ceux qui furent leurs bourreaux.
