Jolliver Arkansaw was the group originally known as Bo Grumpus – they were a quartet formed in Boston as the Bait Shop, who moved to New York and took the name Bo Grumpus at the suggestion of producer Felix Pappalardi and his wife. They recorded one highly regarded album on Atco under that name before a label switch to Bell Records led to legal complications that forced them to relinquish the name Bo Grumpus. "Jolliver Arkansaw" was the new name under which the group – Eddie Mottau (guitar), Joe Hutchinson (guitar, keyboards), Jim Colegrove (bass), and Ronnie Blake (drums) – recorded their next album, Home, which was released in 1969. The group broke up early the next year. Mottau, Hutchinson, and Colgrove have all enjoyed long subsequent careers in music.

Those familiar with Noel's solo work in the context of PP&M will welcome the release of FACETS; his first solo studio recording in 20 years. The 12 track CD contains, in addition to the title tune, selections previously unrecorded (BE REAL, REVOLUTION (1X1), MY FUNNY VALENTINE, BY MYSELF) as well as three instrumentals which feature his classic picking style.

Rock 'n' Roll is a 1975 album of late 1950s and early 1960s-era rock songs covered by John Lennon. The recording of the album spanned a year and its dramatic sessions have since entered into rock music folklore. Rock 'n' Roll became another hit for Lennon, reaching #6 in both the UK and US, where it soon went gold. The single "Stand by Me" also proved a US Top 20 hit that spring.

Although the chaotic sessions that spawned this album have passed into rock & roll legend and the recording's very genesis (as an out-of-court settlement between John Lennon and an aggrieved publisher) has often caused it to be slighted by many of the singer's biographers, Rock 'n' Roll, in fact, stands as a peak in his post-Imagine catalog: an album that catches him with nothing to prove and no need to try.
