Four CDs. Demon are proud to release Eddie Piller Presents British Mod Sounds Of the 1960s, the follow up the The Mod Revival. Featuring 100 original tracks, it's a deep dive into the Mod scene in '60s Britain. Including a selection of classic and rare tracks, tracing the scene from it's R&B roots to a soulful finale. Curated by Acid Jazz Records and Modcast founder Eddie Piller, and featuring new sleeve notes from respected author and broadcaster Paul 'Smiler' Anderson. As Eddie Piller points out in the forward to the extensive sleeve notes that accompany this collection, he chose the word 'Sounds' carefully, reflecting the variety of talent contained here, from uncool session musicians without an ounce of style in them, acts who saw an opportunity to jump on the Mod bandwagon and bands who whole heartedly embraced Mod way of life. And so this new collection mixes the Mod mainstays (Small Faces, The High Numbers, The Action, The Fleur de Lys), with a generous selection of future superstars (David Bowie, Rod Stewart, Elton John, Marc Bolan, Jeff Beck and Graham Gouldman of 10cc are all represented here), and a few artists so obscure, so rare, that they never got to release a record in the '60s, but Eddie has tracked down the tapes nonetheless. A lot of youngsters fell in love with the Mod lifestyle during the revival at the end of the '70s, but the more inquisitive ones like Eddie wanted to know more about the original fashions, the original influential figures, and most of all the original music. Step forward one Randy Cozens, eager to give the benefit of his advice. In those pre-internet days, his platform of choice was the letter pages of the weekly music press. His enthusiasm, his passion, and the sheer volume of missives he posted persuaded Sounds to commission Randy's guide to the music that was played in the all-nighter clubs in London's West End in those early '60s halcyon days.

When Acid Jazz founder Eddie Piller asked Martin Freeman (The Hobbit, Sherlock, The Office) to do a jazz radio show they could hardly imagine the response. From around the world emails and tweets inundated the show and they swore to themselves that they couldn't leave it there. Now, two years on this compilation of their favourite jazz has arrived. From the rolling hard bop of Lee Morgan and Art Blakey, via screaming soul organ, jazz funk original acid jazz onwards to the post modern sprititual jazz of Kasami Washington, this is an incredible journey.

Following last year’s acclaimed Jazz On The Corner compilation 2019 again sees Martin Freeman team up with Acid Jazz’s renowned head honcho Eddie Piller to present a veritable and personal collection of tracks. Compiled from the pair’s personal favourites, be it hearing on the radio, word of mouth or Dj-ing – Soul On The Corner represents the entire gamut of soul from the sixties and seventies right up to the present as illustrated by the likes of Tommy McGhee and the Acid Jazz recent signee Laville.
