Three years after having earned public and critic acclaim for FAR OUT, here's the new album by the Antonio Farao' Trio. The interplay, which is an essential ingredient in this trio, immediately envelopes us and makes each composition fluid and fascinating. This record is a journey through the chords of Farao's piano and those of Martin Gjakonovski's bass, gliding on Dejan Terzic's skins and cymbals.

Trombonist Eddie Bert has had a long and honorable musical career but relatively few opportunities to record as a leader. He is heard in two different settings on this CD reissue; with a pianoless quartet that includes guitarist Joe Puma and with a quintet that includes pianist Hank Jones and the complementary tenor of J.R. Monterose. The repertoire is comprised entirely of originals by either Bert or Puma but the style is very much of the era: cool-toned and lightly swinging bop. Despite the extreme brevity of this CD (under 35 minutes), the music is worth exploring.

But it was his film of Stephen King’s classic, best-selling first novel, Carrie, that would catapult him into major director status. Many directors have tackled Stephen King, including King himself, all to varying degrees of success, but Carrie is the film that leads the pack.

Fashion Pink were considered Baden-Baden’s Super Group. Rusch modelled himself on Jimi Hendrix and was the first to play a Fender Stratocaster including a Marshall-tower. Fashion Pink were the first in the region to play so called progressive underground music, mixed with jazz elements and free-jazz intermezzos. However, this line-up was only short-lived, since Helmut was drafted by the German Armed Forces and Jürgen left the band due to differences about the music. He was replaced with Rainer Bodensohn, who had originally learnt to play the guitar, but later on chose the transverse flute as his main instrument and also played bass. Before Helmut left the band in October 1969, Fashion Pink were the first of many bands to give a guest performance with the radio station Südwestfunk (today SWR) in Baden-Baden, and so this promising up-and-coming band recorded songs in Südwestfunk’s recording studio U1…

Extended Versions: The Encore Collection is a live album taken from a Deep Purple performance originally broadcast on the King Biscuit Flower Hour, released in July 1995. It contains concert material recorded on 27 February 1976 at Long Beach Arena, Los Angeles, CA featuring the Mark IV line-up with Tommy Bolin. The album was released in the U.K. in June 1995 with the title On the Wings of a Russian Foxbat (Connoisseur DPVSOP CD 217). In 2000, a partial set consisting of ten songs was published by BMG under the name Extended Versions.
