This watershed release represents the life’s work of William Ferris, an audio recordist, filmmaker, folklorist, and teacher with an unwavering commitment to establish and to expand the study of the American South. William Ferris was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi in 1942. Growing up on a working farm, Ferris began at a young age documenting the artwork, music, and lives of the people on the farm and in his local community. The archive of recordings that he created and the documentary films that he had a hand in producing have served as powerful tools in institutions of higher learning for decades. It is with great excitement that we present these films and recordings. Our hope is that the enjoyment and educational value that has been received by Ferris’s students over the years will be transmitted to listeners around the world and further the understanding of Southern culture.

The series has enjoyed strong international ratings since its launch in 2015, 50 years after Gerry and Sylvia Anderson’s classic Thunderbirds series first aired. In the UK, the series premiered in April 2015 to a consolidated audience of close to three million and continued to be the most watched show in its slot. Despite its new high-tech look the production retains all the qualities that made the original series a worldwide success. Strong characters and great adventure stories (this time with no strings attached), the series has spread like the original and crossed the generation gap.

UK four disc (three CDs + PAL/Region 0 DVD) box set from the veteran British Pop band. The three CDs contain 70 hit singles and favorite tracks from all of their albums, beginning with One Step Beyond (1979) right up through the Liberty of Norton Folgate (2009).

This time there is a nod to the topical collapse of Western capitalism in Joe Mooney's 'The Man with $1 Million' and Mel Blanc's irresistibly alliterative (but blunt) 'Money'. Speaking of Mel we even got Pat Boone to write the sleeve note for that one. A prize for the first person to guess why. The introduction has been written by the novelist and poet Lavinia Greenlaw, whose book "The Importance of Music to Girls", is a must-read for music lovers and we have a spectacular array of annotators this time, ranging from the man who introduced US to the blues, Paul Oliver, to Sir Tim Rice on Elvis (Presley) and Elvis (Costello) on Dave Bartholomew's 'The Monkey (Speaks His Mind)' that he once covered.

Along with producer Steve Osborne (New Order, Happy Mondays, Doves) the band have created an album as cutting edge, distinctive & danceable as their debut album in 1979. The B-52's influence cuts a wide path through much of so-called Modern Rock– from the low-fi efforts of nouveau garage bands and the Retro-Hip of Ultra-Lounge to the very ascendance of Dance music itself.
