From the studio that made 'The Secret of Kells,' this powerful, Afghanistan-set animated film serves as an appeal for women's rights and a celebration of the creative spirit. If “The Breadwinner” were a live-action film, it would be virtually unbearable to watch, but as animation, it’s not only possible, but somehow inspiring to immerse oneself in this pared-down adaptation of Deborah Ellis’ well-regarded young-adult novel, about an 11-year-old girl who must step up and care for her family after the Taliban raids her home and arrests her father (hence the title).

22 tracks (19 previously unissued) from the Americana music pioneers. Contains early versions of tracks that would appear on future Uncle Walt’s Band releases. Packaging includes liner notes from renowned journalist and producer Bill Bentley. Formed in Spartanburg, SC around 1970, Uncle Walt’s Band David Ball, Deschamps Hood, and Walter Hyatt) established themselves in the area before relocating to Nashville (garnering a following a recording/publishing deal with Buzz Cason), and eventually Austin (per the invite of Willis Alan Ramsey who was anxious to record them.) The band played steadily around Austin in clubs including Castle Creek, Saxon Pub, and Armadillo World Headquarters—where live albums from New Riders Of The Purple Sage, Waylon Jennings, Frank Zappa/Captain Beefheart, Commander Cody, and more were recorded.

The internationally famous quartet always gave it 100% on rousing vocals and equally rousing playing and knew how to pick the 'punters' songs.
These recordings might well be from the 1960s but that only goes to highlight the power and passion in the original sessions.
