Nottingham, UK band The Soundcarriers have announced their fifth album, Through Other Reflections, which will be out August 16 via the band’s own Phosphonic label. Their last album was 2022’s great Wilds. “It almost comes across like a story in some ways”, says the group’s Adam Cann of the album, “the music is quite sectional with elements of exotica and cinematic type layers, it’s a good balance of grooves, tunes and weirdness.” Cann adds, the songs “follow that folk-song tradition of wanting to escape to an imagined time, but here it’s more urban than pastoral.”

Recorded between Fame Studios in Muscle Shoals, AL and Power Station, Waterford, CT, Wilson got together with famed Nashville session guitarist Tom Bukovac and invited several friends (including Warren Haynes, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Vince Gill) to help fashion an album which carries the glow of an ochre sunset and the pristine vocals of a rock legend who still has every single unique octave at her fingertips.

A wicked wicked set of tracks from Japan - one that blends together jazzy riffing and Brazilian rhythms, all played with a surprisingly soulful bent! Suzuki's on bass and piccolo bass, and Yamamoto plays not only electric piano but also a bit of electric harpsichord - which adds a cool feel to the album, and one that's almost like some lost European soundtrack. Rhythms are mostly in a breezy sort of style that mixes samba with bossa jazz – and Donald Bailey is in the group on drums, providing some very nice bottom to the set.

The fifth album of multiple Grammy-nominated hard rockers P.O.D. debuted at #9 on the Billboard 200 chart and featured the singles “Will You” and “Change the World”. The album blended reggae delivery with chugging guitars, anthematic chorus and driving, primal drumming.
