With 63 tracks and a total running time of just under four hours, Dust On The Nettles examines the metamorphosis that British folk underwent during the late 1960s, when the influence of psychedelia and the counterculture saw the idiom being twisted into all kinds of new and exotic shapes, as the finger-in-the-ear folk clubs of yore were inexorably drawn into a brave new world of Arts Labs, free festivals and the nascent college/university circuit.

After the international success of their first album the second one named „Diesel Rock“ shows even more spice and refinement. The lyrics continue the narrative threat and life is really pulsating within. Some songs to heat up, and when there’s enough tension, the concert ignites itself. Simply Diesel Rock or if you want blues-rock with a touch of funk. Their first album had a great response in the English speaking regions, with lots of Airplay in the USA, position 3 in the countdown of Radio Caroline and praise by the journal Blues Matters from the UK. Their concerts are the finest, be it in a club or on the stage of a festival. Willy Matt possesses the charm of a man, who hasn’t forgotten how to laugh despite all the blues lived. Shrewd he lights his cigar, and smokes it while playing guitar and singing at the same time.

The Producers' two finest albums, 1981's Producers and 1982's You Make the Heat, finally made their long-awaited CD debut as a two-fer in 2000. Included are both of the band's fondly-remembered hits – "What's He Got" and "She Sheila".

The group had eleven UK hits between 1975 and 1978, all of them making the top twenty. In 1980, they had a lesser (top forty) hit with Take good care of my baby, a cover of Bobby Vee's classic. Of their UK hits, four made the top five, these being If you think you know how to love me, Living next door to Alice, It's your life and Oh Carol (not a cover of the old Neil Sedaka song), all up-tempo songs. I like all those songs but my favorites are the ballads - Something's been making me blue, I'll meet you at midnight and Lay back in the arms of someone. Their other essential UK hits are Don't play your rock'n'roll to me, Needles and pins (a cover of the sixties classic) and For a few dollars more.
