The Mystery of Her (2022)
After a near fatal car accident, a popular high school student loses her memory and gets a second chance at a more meaningful life. The Mystery of Her is the story of Ali Spencer, a beautiful and popular teenager on the cusp of an amazing future. She's at the top of her game as president of the student council, captain of the soccer team, girlfriend to the hottest guy in school, and best friends with the tight-knit group of "it" girls who define the school's social hierarchy. Through the guidance of her ultra successful event-planner mom, Ali maintains top grades and recently was offered a full scholarship to Brown University. All is going exactly as planned until a car accident strips her of her memory, her identity, and potentially her future.

A circus performer becomes a ballerina and then begins her life of a career versus marriage and a home-life. She marries her first husband, her mentor and instructor, primarily out of gratitude. After his death, she marries an American thinking that can be her escape from the world of ballet. But she leaves him to return the dancing. She has a child but does not tell her husband. When her daughter is two-years-old, the husband finds out and takes the child to America. The ballerina continues to dance until her best dancing days have gone by.

This is probably Peter Greenaway's most famous (or infamous) film, which first shocked audiences at the 1989 Cannes Film Festival and then on both sides of the Atlantic. A gang leader (Michael Gambon), accompanied by his wife (Helen Mirren) and his associates, entertains himself every night in a fancy French restaurant that he has recently bought. Having tired of her sadistic, boorish husband, the wife finds herself a lover (Alan Howard) and makes love to him in the restaurant's coziest places with the silent permission of the cook (Richard Bohringer). Though less cerebral than Greenaway's other films, featuring deadly passions reminiscent of Jacobean revenge tragedies of the early 17th century, the picture still offers the director's usual ironic and paradoxical comments on the relations between eating and sex, love and death.
