Image Segmentation

This book is intended to attract the attention of practitioners and researchers in academia and industry interested in challenging paradigms of image and video coding algorithms with an emphasis on recent technological developments. This book highlights the current research in the image and video processing area such as image fusion, image segmentation and classification, image compression, machine vision algorithms and video compression.

The eight-volume set LNCS 13431, 13432, 13433, 13434, 13435, 13436, 13437, and 13438 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 25th International Conference on Medical Image Computing and Computer-Assisted Intervention, MICCAI 2022, which was held in Singapore in September 2022.

Iris Biometrics: From Segmentation to Template Security provides critical analysis, challenges and solutions on recent iris biometric research topics, including image segmentation, image compression, watermarking, advanced comparators, template protection and more. Open source software is also provided on a dedicated website which includes feature extraction, segmentation and matching schemes applied in this book to foster scientific exchange.

This book constitutes the First Myocardial Pathology Segmentation Combining Multi-Sequence CMR Challenge, MyoPS 2020, which was held in conjunction with the 23rd International Conference on Medical Image Computing and Computer-Assisted Intervention, MICCAI 2020, in Lima, Peru, in October 2020. The challenge took place virtually due to the COVID-19 crisis.
