The Jazz House, home of the Sant Andreu Jazz Band, has become something really special. Classes, rehearsals, recordings, meetings, interviews. The video series "The Jazz House Sessions", started in 2018, and with more than 150 videos (and the list is still growing) reflects part of our history, as well as the evolution of the young musicians who participate in the recordings.

The Jamboree once again hosts the premiere of a reference from the famous record collection ‘Joan Chamorro presents…’, in which figures from the categories of Andrea Motis, Joan Mar Sauqué have recorded their first works, Rita Payés, Eva Fernández, Alba Armengou, Elia Bastida and a long et cetera. Disc number 20 in this series is dedicated to Koldo Munné, saxophonist, singer and composer who has been part of the Sant Andreu Jazz Band for ten years. At the Jamboree, Munné and Chamorro will have top musicians: Josep Traver, Marc Martín and Arnau Julià, apart from some surprises that will make this concert a very special evening.

Trece años de jazz y 11 "Joan Chamorro presenta…", en este cas parte de la Sant Andreu Jazz Band en el 2009, cuando tenía 7 años. Siempre ha sido una persona seria, puntual y responsable. Su primer instrumento es la trompeta, pero también es saxofonista (alto y soprano) y vocalista.

EL JAZZING 8 – vol 1 (Temps Record, 2018) de la Sant Andreu Jazz Band és la mostra del treball realitzat durant l’any 2017, en diferents contextos: Sat, sala Omega, del Taller de Músics, sala Jamboree, ha estat un any molt fructífer i hem incorporat molts arranjaments nous, com sempre, buscant nous reptes i descobrint a nous solistes, que a força d’escoltar molta música i treballar individual i col·lectivament, aconsegueixen uns resultats meravellosos. Aquest nou treball, tot i que inclou molts temes vocals, també hi ha molts instrumentals en on els cada vegada més nombrosos solistes de l’orquestra tenen la seva oportunitat de compartir la seva creativitat, la seva capacitat de generar un discurs propi.

Sant Andreu Jazz Band is a youth jazz band from Barcelona, 7 to 22-year-old children and teenagers. The band leader is Joan Chamorro. The band was founded in 2006 at Escola Municipal de Musica de Sant Andreu. «I learn every day from my students, who don’t stop teaching me that we have no limits, that we always can advance, that enjoying every moment we are unconsciously aware that the best is yet to come, but not because that we live waiting, because, once and again, we are in the best moment: the present.» –Joan Chamorro. In 2012 the film director Ramón Tort made the documentary A film about kids and music based on the band's work and efforts. The film was awarded best feature film at the Lights. Camera. Help. festival in Austin, Texas, in 2013.

Joan Chamorro has already finished the new album of the Sant Andreu Jazz Band. It's called Jazzing 10 Vol. 1, will be released on May 8 and is a tribute to American trumpeter Clifford Brown (1930-1956). The album Jazzig 10 Vol. 1 (Record Time) also includes collaborations from Dick Oatts, Scott Hamilton, Andrea Motis and Fredrik Norén. The songs were recorded live at a concert by the band at La Fabra i Coats (Barcelona), and the repertoire consists of original Brown songs and other songs often performed by Clifford Brown.

This new work, although it includes many vocal themes, also contains so many instrumental themes in which the increasingly numerous soloists of the orchestra have their opportunity to share their creativity, their ability to generate their own discourse, in a continuous evolution.
