Big Machine Records will release The Music Of Nashville: Original Soundtrack Season 3, Volume 2 just before the Season 3 finale of the hit ABC TV series on May 12. To date, music from Nashville has sold nearly 4.5 million digital tracks.

This Americana based soundtrack features new and classic songs from Sara Watkins, (Nickel Creek, I’m With Her), Gregory Alan Isakov and The Staple Singers, among others, as well as a score composed by Zach Dawes, Jonathan Sadoff and members of The Punch Brothers, winners of the 2018 Grammy for Best Folk Album.

The series chronicles the lives of various fictional movers and shakers swept up in Nashville's music industry, and the songs they sing, write, sell, and share are a big part of the show's appeal.

Here Nashville's cast nails a collection of holiday classics for a real-world LP. The album moves with the sonic diversity of contemporary country radio, from string-filled ballads to—in the case of "Christmas Coming Home"—a Bo Diddley-esque syncopated stomp. Sam Palladio's gently sung take on Joni Mitchell's "River" is quietly moving, and Aubrey Peeples' saucy "Merry Christmas Baby" breaks the boundaries of country altogether, exaggerating the horn riffs and guitar flourishes of old-school rock ‘n’ roll.
