Med noen skjellsettende opplevelser i kofferten etter en tid på reisefot skrev Kirsti Huke «Weaving» på bestilling av Trondheim Jazzfest 2017. Anmelderen i «Jazz i Norge» beskriver urfremføringen slik: "Stort, betagende og nærmest uvirkelig. «Weaving» bevegde seg fra det skjøre mot det mektige, med stopp innom urkreftene og like fra og inn i sjelen."

Our world is wounded. All around us we see the cracks. And yet the world is beautiful and blessed in so many ways. This extraordinary work begins from the Beatitudes and responds with new poetry that sheds light on who among us might be in need of blessing. These texts, ancient and new, are woven into a colorful tapestry of music inspired by a variety of traditions, highlighting the universality of the human experience. Ambience is a difficult element in metal. It seems to be its very antithesis, in fact: the aimless wandering of ambient music seems to clash with the oftentimes driven and purposeful beat of metal. Yet occasionally, bands that thrive on building atmosphere before releasing the fury have found a friend in ambient music, like last year’s Messa, which got a worshipful reception here at AMG.
