After receiving worldwide praise and a GRAMMY for Best Jazz Vocal Album for her 2011 disc, "The Mosaic Project", drummer extraordinaire Terri Lyne Carrington releases its hotly anticipated follow-up, "The Mosaic Project: Love And Soul". Like its predecessor, "The Mosaic Project: Love And Soul" presents Carrington leading a rotating cast of superb female instrumentalists and vocalists that includes Oleta Adams, Natalie Cole, Paula Cole, Lalah Hathaway, Chaka Khan, Chanté Moore, Valerie Simpson, Nancy Wilson, Jaguar Wright and Lizz Wright, as well as saxophonist Tia Fuller, trumpeter Ingrid Jensen; bassists Meshell Ndegoecello and Linda Oh; and keyboardists Geri Allen, Patrice Rushen and Rachel Z.

In 1962, Duke Ellington, Charlie Mingus and Max Roach created one of the pivotal jazz recordings of the 1960s. "Money Jungle" provided commentary on the perennial tug-of-war between art and commerce. GRAMMY Award-winning drummer, composer and bandleader Terri Lyne Carrington, Gerald Clayton and Christian McBride pay homage to Duke, his trio and his creative vision with a cover of this historic recording. Carrington also enlists guest artists to help with the rearrangements and reinterpretations. These musicians include: Clark Terry, Robin Eubanks, Tia Fuller, Antonio Hart, Nir Felder, Arturo Stabile, Shea Rose and Lizz Wright. Also included are two Carrington originals, “Grass Roots” and “No Boxes (Nor Words)”, along with “Cut Off”, a delicate piece written by Clayton. Money Jungle: Provocative In Blue brings fresh light and energy to this jazz classic.

The release of GRAMMY®-winning drummer, composer and bandleader Terri Lyne Carrington s homage to Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus and Max Roach is scheduled to coincide with the 50th anniversary of their iconic 1963 Money Jungle album. Carrington enlists the aid of two high-profile collaborators keyboardist Gerald Clayton and bassist Christian McBride to pay tribute to Duke, his trio and his creative vision with a cover of this historic recording. Guests include trumpeter Clark Terry, trombonist Robin Eubanks, reed players Tia Fuller and Antonio Hart, guitarist Nir Felder, percussionist Arturo Stabile and vocalists Shea Rose and Lizz Wright. Herbie Hancock closes the album quoting Ellington, with observations about the role of music in society and the popularity of money versus the popularity of art.
