Journalist Jep Gambardella has charmed and seduced his way through the lavish nightlife of Rome for decades. When a mysterious axe-wielding psychopath enters the fray, leaving blood-spattered corpses in his wake, the family s doctor (Patrick Magee) takes it upon himself to try to get to the bottom of things–before it s too late!

Based on Nogami Yaeko’s original novel, The Neptune, which was based on real-life events, it follows four people stuck on a small fishing ship that is adrift at sea. After running out of fuel and losing their rudder in a storm, they find themselves lost with no navigation, and it’s during Obon, a religious Japanese holiday which means NO ONE will be out looking for them during the festival. They immediately split into two groups, the Captain and his young shipmate ( Taiji Tonoyama and Kei Yamamoto respectively), and headstrong Hachizo (Kei Satô) and Gorosuke (Nobuko Otowa) the woman who is corrupted by Hachizo as the film progresses….

Spinnin' is a wonderfully exuberant, multi-layered Spanish drama. MADRID 1995. Garate and Omar are young, gay and in love, and want to have a child. After failed attempts with their female pals, they befriend Raquel, a pregnant woman whose partner has died of aids. Sound conventional? Spinnin' is anything but. It is a wildly entertaining, inventive and cheeky film that throws the audience in the centre of these friends' chaotic lives, and celebrates being alive. Garate and Omar are surrounded by myriad colourful characters: from new-born babies to Garate's 60 plus father who is falling in love again; to two policemen who list things that are important to them, in the desire that their lists match up; to a couple who are either kissing each other, or fighting - both with equal passion; and many, many others. There's not a dull minute in this whirlwind of a film. Surrender to the charms of Spinnin' and you will leave the cinema wanting to embrace each other..

First released in the early '50s to the public's delight, these nature documentaries were unique in their lively, fictional narrative approach to the subjects' lives, which were recreated with anthropomorphic humor and zest. Even today, and maybe more so, hearing that beavers in Beaver Valley are "always stubborn, always persistent," or that the crayfish shovel mud like "miniature bulldozers" is heartening, reminding one that Disney is The Magical Kingdom. Even more heartening is it that these scientific films, made with the latest cameras and technology, were filmic landmarks, and contain footage that David Attenborough's film crews would only dream of getting; in Mysteries of the Deep, a dolphin gives birth and there are views of coral reef that may not even exist anymore. White Wilderness takes one through the Arctic tundra, a "world of frozen chaos," showing majestic animals alongside the lemming, with their strange, suicidal tendency to jump off cliffs…..

It all begins at the end of the twentieth century. On New Year's Eve, 2000, 24-year-old Arthur gets together with his girlfriend, Lucie. She really wants a baby, but he doesn't feel ready to be a father yet. During the long night of wild partying, Arthur will go through unsettling experiences. He'll be projected seventy years ahead in time and find himself face to face with an old man who claims he's his son… This seventy-year-old son shows him his house, family, life and Arthur discovers what Paris has become in 2070. By showing him this unexpected future, his son hopes to convince Arthur to have a child.

A disfigured engraver who takes revenge on the world by becoming a master forger. His motives aren't entirely selfish: in love with blind circus entertainer Jeanne (Madeleine Sologne), he hopes to provide her with the necessary funds to pay for a sight-restoring operation. But Jeanne is herself in love with Furet (Louis Salou), and thereby hangs a tragic tale…

Cheryl Draper (Barbara Stanwyck) witnesses a murder in the apartment opposite her bedroom window. The police come, but discover only a respectable author, Dr. Richter (George Sanders). Cheryl investigates anyway, with some encouragement from a homicide lieutenant (Gary Merrill), and finds some corroborating, but inconclusive, evidence. Richter first tries to label Cheryl as mentally-unbalanced. When that fails, he decides to kill her. The plot of this small thriller has obvious similarities to Rear Window, but it is realized in a totally different, quite satisfying manner, due to top-notch performances by Stanwyck and Merrill.
