Faith No More's 1997 release Album of the Year featured the talents of another new guitarist, Jon Hudson, who replaced Dean Menta (Menta only toured with the group in support of King for a Day before being dismissed). Like King for a Day, Album is more straightforward musically than past releases and remains one of FNM's most focused and concise works. Recorded in bassist Billy Gould's home studio, Album of the Year would turn out to be their last studio recording before splitting up in 1997. A trio of outstanding tracks - "Stripsearch," "Last Cup of Sorrow," and "Ashes to Ashes" - blend hard rock and pop melodicism the way only FNM can, while "Helpless" is an unpredictable composition that alternates between heavy guitar riffing and Mike Patton's tempered vocals…

"Album of the Year" is Faith No More's sixth full-length release. It demonstrates the same kind of straight-ahead approach as its predecessor, „King For A Day“, but also contains plenty of surprises. The album was recorded entirely at bassist Billy Gould's home studio, and contains the highlights 'Collision,' 'Stripsearch,' 'Last Cup of Sorrow,' 'Naked in Front of the Computer,' and 'Helpless.' Despite the emergence of numerous up-and-coming bands that were mentioning FNM as an important influence, the bandmembers amicably went their separate ways upon the completion of their 1997-98 tour.

The Orquesta Cubana de Musica Moderna acted for the first time on 12 May 1967 in the Amadeo Roldan theatre (previously Auditorium) under the direction of Armando Romeu, although the podium would later be occupied by, among others, Rafael Somavilla, Leonardo Timor, Tony Tano and Paquito D'Rivera. This Big Band consisted of star musicians of various generations who came from other groups and orchestras: The Pucho Escalante Nonet, the Orquesta de Timor, the Sinfonica Nacional and that of the Teatro Musical de La Habana, which provided, among others, Paquito D'Rivera, Chucho Valdes and Carlos Emilio Morales, future members of the group Irakere, which would be founded in 1973. This disc includes versions by the OCMM conducted by Somavilla of standards from the Cuban popular repertoire: "Son de la Loma", "Ay Mama Ines", "Guantanamera ", "La Comparsa de Lecuona" and "El Manisero", by Simons.

Master of Horror

Master of Horror (1965)
An anthology film of two classic tales from Edgar Allan Poe. A re-edited and dubbed version of Obras maestras del terror (1960) for American cinemas. An anthology of two classic tales from the horror master Edgar Allan Poe. In the first story, "The Case of M. Valdemar," Narciso Ibanez Menta stars as hypnotist Dr. Eckstrom who believes he can keep the dying Henry Valdemar alive. Just as Valdemar is on the brink of death, Eckstrom hypnotizes him. In attempt to prove to his doubting colleagues, he eventually brings Valdemar out of his hypnotized state with horrific results. In our second tale, "A Cask of Amontillado," Menta is John Samivet, a man more concerned with his winery than his young wife Teresa. When a stranger comes to the village, love is in the air. But Samivet has a devious plot in mind for both of the lovers. This is an English-dubbed version of Obras maestras del terror (1960) which removes "The Tell-Tale Heart" segment along with 15 minutes of footage from the other two stories.::Anonymous
