2014 marks the 45th Anniversary of the launch of the Invictus, Hot Wax and Music Merchant labels – the trio of labels that Brian Holland, Lamont Dozier and Eddie Holland launched following their acrimonious split from Berry Gordy’s Motown Empire. Since the 45rpm record was the fulcrum of the new operation, we thought this would be the perfect excuse to celebrate the 45th anniversary by pulling together every single 45 release from the discography of Invictus, Hot Wax and Music Merchant - both A and B sides. That’s 96 x Invictus 45s, 44 x Hot Wax 45s and 17 x Music Merchant 45s – 157 singles and 269 original recordings total.

Cardboard sleeve (mini LP) reissue from Lou Reed. Part of a 9-album Cardboard sleeve (mini LP) Lou Reed reissue campaign featuring the albums "Lou Reed," "Transformer," "Berlin," "Rock and Roll Animal," "Sally Can't Dance," "Lou Reed Live," "Metal Machine Music," Coney Island Baby," and "Rock adn Roll Heart." Lou Reed's solo debut suggests that neither Reed nor his new record company were quite sure about what to do with him in 1972. It would be years before the cult of the Velvet Underground became big enough to mean anything commercially, leaving Lou pretty much back where he started from in the public eye after five years of hard work, and he seemed to be searching for a different musical direction on this set without quite deciding what it would be.

Rare selections, Groove & Tururut are a series of posts about hidden and unique collections of music from the 50s, 60s, and 70s, more or less rare and more or less widespread, and probably made in foreign editions aimed at minorities. We add that the vast majority are also physically obsolete. Small treasures that make the B-side of our discography.

It would be years before the cult of the Velvet Underground became big enough to mean anything commercially, leaving Lou pretty much back where he started from in the public eye after five years of hard work, and he seemed to be searching for a different musical direction on this set without quite deciding what it would be; while the best tunes are admirably lean, no-frills rock & roll, there are also several featuring tricked-up arrangements that don't suit the material terribly well (at no other time in history would anyone believe that Steve Howe and Rick Wakeman would be a good choice as backing musicians for the guy who wrote "Sister Ray").

Che’Z Enrique Collins (born January 1, 1990), known as The Enigma TNG, is an American music composer and YouTuber. Before becoming “The Enigma TNG,” Che’Z created older original tracks as a young teen. Gaining inspiration from artists such as Skrillex, Deadmau5, The Birthday Massacre and many others, he began creating his tracks in FL Studio.

Soft Machine Legacy dedicate Live Adventures to saxophonist Elton Dean (who died in 2006) and bassist Hugh Hopper (who died in 2009), two key members of Soft Machine during the group's heyday who were also members of Soft Machine Legacy during the 2000s. Their deaths were major losses, but did not signal the end of this Soft Machine spinoff band…
