 Biber's Passacaglia and a Swiss Scottish? And all that for solo viola? When the first Lockdown began in March 2020, one of my first thoughts was: finally enough time to practice Bach's Chaconne on the viola!

Played on a very special instrument: the famous Stradivarius viola “Gibson” from 1743… When Ursula Sarnthein, violist in the Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra, began recording the famous Chaconne from Bach’s Partita in D minor, BWV 2004, in September 2020, she did not yet know exactly where the journey would take her. The goal was to record music that crossed the violist’s musical path and that touched her – and that she can play alone on the viola. And her viola is a very special instrument: it’s the famous “Gibson”, that Stradivari has built in 1734.

The final U.S. show, a triumphant and blistering bookend to the storied career of one of the most influential bands in rock music, featuring a unique and expansive eighty-five minute set list that spans Sonic Youth’s nearly three decade catalog. Mixed from multitrack by longtime live engineer Aaron Mullan and mastered and cut by Carl Saff.

The marriage of Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore—a relationship which had been both a creative and personal fulcrum of the band's entire history—was ending in a spectacularly acrimonious way, and two months later, the two would announce their separation after 27 years of marriage.

One Day In Brooklyn is the 2009 album by Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey. It features only six songs and while some call it an EP, it is a full length effort.
