Omicron

While Omicron's first album "Acrocosm" was an ambient techno album, similar to other releases of the time (B12'a Electro-Soma, Global Communications 76:14), "The Generation And Motion Of A Pulse" is strictly ambient, with a few beats scattered here and there, (Think SETI, only more restrained). This is an album best enjoyed in full, with the lights low.

Omicron is a Greek techno/ambient producer from the 1990’s. A catchy, instrumental melding of Industrial Dance, Techno, and big beat. Rousing vocal snippets and rock-influenced riffs punctuate funky, mid-tempo breaks. Old school synth riffs lead into upbeat 4/4 rhythms. "Acrocosm" is Savvas Ysatis’ first release as Omicron on the Instinct Records label.

In this Italian sci-fi comedy the corpse of a laborer is inhabited and revived by an Omicron – an alien being. When the creature becomes accustomed to the body, he returns to the worker's former job and begins operating the machines at an incredible speed. Soon he finds himself involved in a labor dispute and even falling in love. In the end, the dead laborer's body rebels and the alien must return to his Venusian home.
