Old Boy

On 25 November 1999, a six-year-old Cuban boy was found floating alone off the Florida coast after his mother drowned during an attempt to escape Cuba for the United States. Set against the tense and acrimonious relationship between the two countries, The Boy Who Changed America tells the story of Elian Gonzalez and the bitter custody battle that played out in the aftermath of his rescue between his Cuban father and American relatives. Eighteen years later and in the wake of Fidel Castro's death, the now 23-year-old Elian and his family tell their story for the first time.

A 14-year-old pretends to go on a ski trip, but actually spends the week in isolation in his basement, escaping society's pressure. When his 25-year-old half-sister enters the basement, a few emotional and confronting days and nights ensue.

The story is about a young single mother who is compelled to make her way at risk of her life to South Ossetia, where her son is, whom she had sent there on the eve of the conflict. The film can be divided into two parts that alternate one with the other: one shows how in the eyes of a young boy the South Ossetian conflict transforms into a fantastic war story with super-robots, and the second shows the reality of the war situation and the journey of the main heroine.

Around 8.4 million children around the world are enslaved today. Now, in a remarkable journey across three continents, five of them tell their stories. This documentary is presented by reporter Rageh Omaar.
A 12 year old boy is sold by his mother for £25 to a fisherman in Ghana. The boy will spend his childhood diving to disentangle nets in the murky waters of Lake Volta. In Saudi Arabia, a six year old boy who has been trafficked into the country from Yemen, in order to beg on the streets for a gang master, is picked up by the Saudi authorities and deported.
Meanwhile in Cambodia, a 17 year old girl recalls her horrific life as a sex slave, sold to a brothel aged 12. These are just three of the lives encountered in this special documentary looking at the extraordinary, global story of child slavery today, in which eight and a half million children are estimated to be involved.

Poor Lil' Pimp (Mark Brooks). The little boy just doesn't seem to fit in at home in squeaky-clean suburbia. His only friend is a foul-mouthed talking gerbil, Weathers (Ludacris). Then one day, by accident, he runs into a bodacious working girl, Sweet Chiffon (Lil' Kim), who takes him to a bar called Playground, a hip-hop wonderland where he befriends master pimp Fruit Juice (Bernie Mac) and is introduced to the world of pimping. There's no place like the Playground and Lil' Pimp calls it home. But his new life is endangered by the machinations of the city's scheming, duplicitous mayor Tony Gold (William Shatner). Unless Gold can be exposed for the conniving, double-crossing politician that he is, the Playground and the neighbourhood surrounding it will be transformed into a toxic golf course. And Lil' Pimp will be forced to return to the horrors of life in suburbia.

While playing outside one day, nine-year-old Michele discovers Filippo, who is chained to the ground at the bottom of a hole. Michele witnesses town baddie Felice nearby and suspects something bad is happening. Michele is unsure whom he should tell about his discovery, eventually spilling the beans to his closest friend.

A seemingly petty conflict in Bosnia soon snowballed into the first truly global conflict.
