Berlin Strings EXP E - SFX is the final installment of our orchestral effect range within the Berlin Series. It complements the Berlin Woodwinds EXP D - SFX and Berlin Brass EXP C - Horn SFX Collections with extensively captured playable multi-sampled tonal and atonal string effects. It is recorded at the level of flexibility and depth of sampling the Berlin Series is renowned for since its first Collection release.

We are very happy to release OSR 2. We needed some "extra" time for additional recording-sessions with the orchestra to bring some of our visions into OSR 2. The update will not include additional basic-runs, because OSR has a huge amount of pre-recorded runs. We decided to come up with some improvements for more flexibility and some new artics. We've recorded fast legato-performances for our new playable runs patches for violins+violas and celli+basses. We divided the musicians into two groups of players. A multiscript will make natural tuning- and timing-discrepancies possible. But you've control over all of these things.

Berlin Woodwinds is the first sample library to offer a complete orchestral woodwind section allowing the composer to write for up to woodwinds in 2s (meaning 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets and 2 bassoons), with doubles (Piccolo and English horn). There’s also a third flute. BWW is different from other libraries where at most 2 flutes or 2 oboes might have been recorded, but not multiple players to create a complete symphonic section. Previously, if you wanted two of anything, you would either have to use the transposition trick with one instrument to create the second, or use the same instrument from a different library and hoped they matched in stage position and room sound.

Use the individually recorded mutes to provide remarkable sonorities to your creations. Like all Berlin Series Instruments, Muted Brass is highly versatile and adaptable. The specific sound of the different mutes lets you achieve a real vintage vibe as well as a classical or contemporary tone.

The library is recorded with 4-5 different mic positions: AB, Tree, Close, Surround and Concert master (only violin 1). The mics can me mixed and matched by the user but using them all at the same time is obviously very resource demanding. Also Adaptive Legato Engine is created, which uses three different legato types (slurred-expressive, agile and fast) plus portamento, and it switches automatically depending on how fast you play. Velocity switches between three different bow stroke intensities for an even more realistic legato attack.

Chamber-sized Ensembles and Soloists. TIME micro is your creative resource for atmospheric and rhythmic underscoring, geared towards intimate and small instrument groups and soloists – for instance chamber sized string sections and small vocal groups comprising no more than three singers.
